Hello all ! I will be in Paris right after Christmas for a week. Can anyone share experience shopping at H at that time? I will be applying for a lottely for BKC, but keeping my expectaitons low. Would asking for a walkin appoitment for a Picotin at this time of the year be realistic?

Hello everyone, I am writing to share my second Hermes miracle. I arrived to Paris today for a mini break before the madness of Christmas. Hermes was absolutely crazy and I honestly feel bad for the leather desk specialists as there were many people requesting for an appointment. I met a very very lovely gentleman who said to me to come back later, which I did. When I returned late in the afternoon, he was not on the desk, my heart sunk. I explained to the lady what the gentleman told me and I was told to wait for 10 minutes. However in between this time that I took a walk around the store, another man approached me to say that he definetly couldn’t help me today as it was full. I was heartbroken so I left and went back to my hotel for a coffee. A decided to pop back just before close at 18:30pm to get a ring that was in my wish list as a consolation prize. I then bumped into the gentleman that I had met earlier and he helped me get an appointment. The sales associate I met was a true gentleman and truly felt lucky to meet him. I told him I was interested in a mini evelyne and after sharing the colours asked if maybe my dream colour would be in a Picotin 18. The sales associate left and returned with two evelyne bags and one Picotin to choose from. He opened the Picotin bag first and I couldn’t believe my eyes that it was my dream lucky daisy in Mauve Sylvestere. I didn’t even mention this Bag as I had actually thought it was impossible to get. I truly truly couldn’t believe my luck and I believe in Hermes luck, patience and miracles. The right bag will always come in the right moment. The best day ever. (Thank you for reading my story  )
A lovely story! Did the SA’s name begin with L, by any chance? He looked after me on my first visit and made me feel like a princess 😊

This story is similar to my last visit to FSH - I was told in the morning to come back in the afternoon, luckily the same guy was on the desk and I managed to get a mini Evelyne 😊

Ladies I was in Paris this week and won the lottery Monday! Had a very late appt time so was worried all would be gone.

Had an amazing SA, I asked for rouge sellier or neutral (chai, stain, etoupe, etc) in a 28/30.

She first offered me a B25 rouge sellier touch, which I turned down as I dislike exotics. She then found me a B30 etoupe GHW in Epsom and wow did I fall in love! Epsom is so light weight! I've only had Epsom and Clemence before.

I think asked for a constance but they only had exotics so she offered a rose Sakura TPM as I mentioned pink was my fav color.

It was an amazing experience! I've applied probably 100 times and never was selected. Previous trips I had a lot of pre-spend in France but this trip only 409 euros on a bracelet

First I want to say thank you for all those who have shared their experiences and insights! I would have been too intimidated to try for a bag without all the knowledge I've gained from this forum, so I very am grateful for the advice : ) And amazingly, I was able to get a dream bag in Paris!

After a couple failed attempts with registering for the lottery (DH and I both tried and didn't received the confirmation email that our lottery request went through) we decided to visit FSH to look for a few other items I was interested in. After finding what I was looking for, our SA asked if there was anything else they could assist us with. DH explained the trouble we had with registering for the lottery and asked if they would be able to help us with a bag to celebrate a milestone. They checked with a manager, and amazingly said yes, they could help! I was offered a K32 in Chai and it was love at first sight

After experiencing FSH, I really don't think there is a magic formula to getting a bag there. It largely comes down to luck (unless of course, you are a VVVIP). It surely can't hurt to be polite, patient, and have no expectations or sense of entitlement. In the end, it is a dream just to be shopping in Paris! I would have had a memorable time with or without a bag, but the bag is a pretty special memento.

We are going to Paris in a few weeks. Except for stock, are there any particular categories that tend to be noticeably cheaper in France than in US/Canada? For example, blankets, and cashmere scarves seem to be on par with North American prices (less VAT), and shoes seem to be ~10% less expensive.
Most of what I bought recently was 20-25% less factoring in VAT refund and exchange rates. This includes a bag. I declare my purchases at customs in my country but they have always thanked me for my honesty and never charged me.

You probably got Lu.. or La.. - neither one of them are usually very flexible. You were lucky that day ;)

Congrats! Chai is one of my fav Hermes colors!! Do you mind sharing what other things you picked up before getting the offer?

I got La - I sensed quite quickly that he was pretty high up. My husband actually old me for the first time last night that he was getting knowing looks from him as we went upstairs like he was going to make sure I left happy. He offered me a Birking Touch first, but I couldn't afford it . I left with a gold B30

Hello lovelies, did any of you have an issue with Global Blue’s tax refund. I made a few purchases at the Paris stores last week. The tax refund forms had amounts to be refunded in euros say €800. When I received the funds it was in my home currency which was £… and a lot less than what it was supposed to be in €!! They took at least another 10% I never asked or been asked to specify which currency to receive the refund. I even paid for my purchases in €. Did any of you experience this issue also?
