I will leave this reminder as a sticky because tthis is often a thread that new members (or new Hermès lovers) post on - hopefully temporarily.

Thank you!

The SA was very kind and detailed. He took a super detailed wishlist for me, he called me into the back, warned me that the bag was not what I requested and I said I would keep an open mind. It was a Constance 24 in brick which was surprisingly beautiful worn! I turned down the offer because I wanted something more formal and find the brick is very casual. He gave me his card and told me to email him. I asked for a RTW associate to connect with for remote shopping. So that was a tentative success. The leather SA recommended I try for a walk in at Faubourg. I did and the very nice lady advised me to return tomorrow. Then I tried on some RTW with a great SA who is unfortunately only temporary. Now my dilemma: return to sevres to buy the coat or buy from Faubourg from the nice but temporary SA? I think considering my goal is a new long term SA I should try to return to Sevres. I overheard several SAs saying that you can’t get a second appointment for 15 days using the same name in the lottery system.
Thanks for updating us! I suggest Sevres. Out of interest, what bag specs did you ask for?

I was very broad because I have been waiting almost 3 years since my last offer. I told the SA my story and pointed out that I had a lot of time to add new bags to my wishlist. This is why I was surprised he was so detailed. I said I would really like a birkin 30 or 25, in a dark colour to be more formal, but that I would also be open to light colours because I wear a lot of beige. No red, orange, purple, jungle green or gold. And second choice a Kelly maximum size 28. I also mentioned a Kelly cut would be ok and that I love the desordre you never know. The SA went through individual colours with me and suggested more colours which surprised me. After trying on the demo bags we agreed the birkin 35 looked good as well.

Congrats on the offer and experience even if it wasn’t what you hoped to get. And I think you should go where you feel the most comfortable at. Good luck for tomorrow.

Definitely don’t go with someone who’s temporary, unless she’s just changing departments but still at the store. The Sevres SA that helped u with leather sounded really great, you should stick to him for everything.

If your Sevres leather SA is willing to take you on as a customer and help you with RTW as well, I would say go with your Sevres SA.

Otherwise, my gut sense is to try FSH and one of us can pass you the contact details of a perm RTW SA. There’s no guarantee of a QB either way but FSH is the flagship store. Your chances may be higher for a walk-in appt after the purchase of a coat.

Thank you, if you have a good recommendation for a permanent RTW SA at FSH I would much appreciate it. I will feel out Sevres tomorrow and then decide what to do. I’m not clear if the leather SA is trying to take me on as a client or much more likely pass me to someone else.

I’d go to Faubourg. Sevres was nice but they don’t have as much bag stock or RTW.

+1 with @londonbridge1605 ’s original advice, esp. bc he is a leather SA. IMO stick with sevres bc you developed a personal relationship with that SA

A great SA for someone else doesn’t always mean a great fit for another
But, you can always find a RTW SA on your own as well

ETA: JMO, before passing on any SAs info, I make sure I know the person and that it’s okay with that SA. :)

I appreciate your advice! I hadn’t heard back from the SA from Sevres and my trip was ending. I am a reserved person and found the FSH store overwhelming but with Londonbridge1605’s words ringing in my ears I decided to give it another chance. The RTW SA was not there so I went to leave but before leaving I worked up the nerve and asked at the podium again. Success.

Wow, you just had a lottery appointment yesterday and they gave you a walk-in appt today as well? That's gotta be a first!
