Not sure why I’m so anxious but I feel like I’m caught in a bit of dilemma (first world problem, fully aware).. Let me try to articulate as best as I could.

TLDR: Last year, my long-time Paris SA got me a leather appointment, where I met another SA. Clicked with both. The leather SA gave me his info and told me to reach out next time. Now I don’t know who to shop with when I return to Paris in Oct.

For the last few years, I’ve been exclusively walking in George V and requesting a lovely SA. She’s more junior, but I always have a great time with her, shopping in every category (she also has no problem telling me I look horrible in certain pieces, which we like to laugh about lol). She even put me on her “fave client” list whatever that is? Last year, I asked for a possibility of a QB but she said she’s not trained for leather until another few months, but ended up getting me a leather appointment from her manager.

During that leather appointment, I met another super nice and more senior SA and scored the exact QB I wanted (k25). We were laughing throughout the store about anything and everything. He gave me his email address and told me to contact him next time I visit Paris, and we stayed in touch a couple times since.

Here’s the dilemma.. Recently, I WhatsApped SA 1 that I’ll be in Paris in Oct and she set up an appointment (even though I was just going to walk-in). Many months ago before booking flights, I emailed both SAs asking if they’d be around, so SA 2 probably knows I’m coming too.

Did I make the wrong move? My heart tells me I should stay loyal to SA 1 because we click and she’s helped me for years, so I should keep building that relationship. But she’s more junior I’m not sure if she actually completed her leather training like she mentioned last year (didn’t follow up). I also really like SA 2 and on paper he has more “leather power”, and feel it’d be rude to not show up after keeping in touch. Don’t wait to lose that connection either.

At my appointment with SA 1, would it be weird or awkward to still say hi to SA 2 even if I’m not shopping with him? Or is it even weirder if I shop with each of them on different days? Is it unrealistic to maintain both connections?

At the end of the day, I want to buy a bunch of stuff not found in my home country, maintain relationship with my SAs because they’re awesome, and obviously get QBs.

What would you do? Anyone have experience having multiple SA relationships from the same store?
Agree with @lilflobowl. I don’t see any issue with simply asking your SA if she now covers leather, and for her advice as to how to proceed. There is no harm in asking, bc usually, but not always, you have different SAs for different departments. A George V RTW SA once told me that it is usual practice for a SA to assist only within her department). Either way, IMO you should mention that the leather SA (that she kindly arranged) suggested you contact him the next time you are in. It’s been my limited experience (I have an FSH SA) however that the expectation is you will return to your first SA for most of your custom. (My experience is that another SA covered for my regular one while on maternity leave, so both were cc’ed on my email asking for an appt)

ETA: SAs all prize loyalty, and there is no telling how senior yours will become. She may encourage you to keep in contact with both, or she may offer to facilitate another appt with leather. You also don’t know if the leather SA will remain in leather. I wouldnt feel like you did anything wrong. At the end of the day, everything will work out. I would suggest crediting your first SA either way for facilitating your introduction to leather. I believe @Bdbunny has several SAs in Paris, and may be able to give a more nuanced opinion so am tagging her here :)

Yup, agree with @880! Ask SA 1 if she covers leather now and if not, how to proceed. Or you can ask SA1, "should I set up a separate appointment with SA2?" Or you can contact SA2 and ask "I'm meeting with SA1 at this time, would you also be available?" I have a RTW SA and a FJ SA (well, DID, past tense because she just left :crybaby: ), but I set up 2 separate appointments with them since they had different work schedules the week I was there. I don't think it's a big deal. Maybe SA1 made a leather appointment for you with SA2!

Don't fret! Having two SA's who adore you in one store means more people to vouch and plead to their manager your worthiness of special items. I don't believe the SA's in France aren't too much in competition for sales like in other countries. As long as you're loyal and keep your Hermes shopping in France to George V -- I don't see an issue with having two SA's in one store for the likelihood one SA is away or on vacation when you plan to visit. Just be sure to tell them you enjoy shopping with both.

Hello ladies! I just received the notification of my leather appointment tomorrow in Sevres. It’s my first time shopping in Paris and somewhat serendipitous because just yesterday I was here lamenting that my perfect SA retired and the new one does not answer my texts. What can I expect from the appointment? Any tips for finding a regular SA in Paris? Bisous!

Lottery? How many times did you apply?

I am not so experienced in shopping in Paris but I think you are overthinking. You are a tourist in Paris, not your home store elsewhere. I don’t see a need for SA loyalty. Just fix an appointment with both to “catch up”. Split your wishlist into 2. Buy stuff from each one and then ask for the bag you want. If it happens, it happens.

I am making a trip to Paris soon. Just made an appointment with an SA whom I purchased fine jewelry from last year. Additionally, I’m going to make an appointment with another SA I purchased from the year before. Hope I get to see both and just say hi even if I didn’t get anything I like.

Congrats on the appointment! As clichéd and simplistic as it sounds, just be yourself and enjoy the experience  Worked for me!

P/S: don’t forget to share how your appointment went!

Thank you! I am flying in this morning after an all nighter last night. I hope I can pull it together for the appointment and not be a frazzled mess!

You’ll be fine. Smile, be polite and real. And just try to enjoy without the need of getting a QB out of this appointment. If it is meant to be, you will get one offered. ❤️

Live from Sevres: the SA is currently searching the stock room.
Rly hope the SA will came back with what you want :)

Once I was at Sevres and witnessed a SA saying "im going to the stock, ill be back" and then I spotted him wandering around the shop upstairs and going to bathroom hahaha. Just pretending he was looking at the stock. When they dont want, they dont want. At the contrary, once they decide to allow something, it's magical :)

Fingers crossed for you hoping you get your dream bag
Thank you!

The SA was very kind and detailed. He took a super detailed wishlist for me, he called me into the back, warned me that the bag was not what I requested and I said I would keep an open mind. It was a Constance 24 in brick which was surprisingly beautiful worn! I turned down the offer because I wanted something more formal and find the brick is very casual. He gave me his card and told me to email him. I asked for a RTW associate to connect with for remote shopping. So that was a tentative success. The leather SA recommended I try for a walk in at Faubourg. I did and the very nice lady advised me to return tomorrow. Then I tried on some RTW with a great SA who is unfortunately only temporary. Now my dilemma: return to sevres to buy the coat or buy from Faubourg from the nice but temporary SA? I think considering my goal is a new long term SA I should try to return to Sevres. I overheard several SAs saying that you can’t get a second appointment for 15 days using the same name in the lottery system.
