I will leave this reminder as a sticky because tthis is often a thread that new members (or new Hermès lovers) post on - hopefully temporarily.

On an average how many times have you tried before you got an appt.
I know the algorithm is funny, some score an appt first try others after a lot of times.
I scored an appt on my second try.
Unfortunately was sick so couldn’t go.
Going back again and wondering if I should start trying to get the rejections out of the way.
A few years ago, I got an appointment after 2 weeks of trying. This last time, I tried 6 days in a row with no luck.

Hi, just wanted to ask, did any of you tried booming an appointment with your child's passport details too or only adults ones? Thought of trying since my child is with me on this trip too. Thanks!
Hi I tried this a couple of years ago- my son was 14 and I had gotten him an AmEx card (user on my account), when we got the FSH appointment I was told that he could not purchase even though he had the AmEx and ID. You have to be 18 to get VAT and Hermes has a policy prohibiting it.

Did they let you buy it with your ID ?

I’ve been trying for 20 days as of today. I have no idea why I’ve not gotten an appointment. I even went into FSG a few weeks ago and asked for a few days in a row and bought a belt when there. They just sent me back to the website after saying they couldn’t fit me in.

No I had gotten an appointment via my hotel concierge the day before and purchased a Kelly. I then got an appointment via the lottery. They would not let me purchase two quota bags under my own profile and they would not allow the purchase under my son's because he was not 18. If he had been 18 it would have worked.
Which hotel may I ask?

The algorithm isn't funny - there is no algorithm - and everyone will have wildly different numbers of how long it took to get an appointment. It's a lottery and it works according to the laws of probability. Your chance is essentially the same every time you try: X chance out of the number of entries, "X" being the number of appointments allotted.
There is no way to "get the rejections out of the way". Just keep trying. Good luck!

There is an algorithm. An SA told me in FSH. It tries to weed out certain details they feel account for “illegitimate requests” as he put it. And using same phone number against multiple passports, things like that.

Planning a Paris trip with my sister! Anybody get lucky during Paris fashion week? Heard it’s a terrible time to try and get a bag but it’s the only time that works with our schedules. Would like to hear anyone’s experiences going during this time!

There is no algorithm to choose appointments. And if you want to get technical, the screening of duplicate entries is not handled by an algo.

I’m a statistician and inclined to agree with you. SA would not have details of randomisation process (and anything that proceeds it, like cleaning out the data). Bearing in mind that the entries stop around 7.30pm and appointment notifications are sent 8-8.30pm, it’s unlikely it’s done manually.
I find from my daily job that people are unable to accept law of probability and seek patterns everywhere. I once wrote a post on the estimation of probabilities of independent trials (entries) but it’s been widely ignored and ppl kept discussing straight below it magic number of trials before the day they land in Paris or purchases in store to proceed the application. I can’t remember now exact numbers but probability of getting at least one appt in 30 days was very low, like 10%.
