I am so sorry that you had this experience. Know that you are the only person who can determine your worth. Not others and certainly not a “luxury designer.”

The entire system in Paris is set up to allow for Hermes personnel to discriminate against customers by choosing who they may deem worthy of purchasing a bag. That is the definition of treating someone differently based on their appearance, including race. I think that we will all see in a few years that this rude and inequitable treatment cannot be sustained and Hermes will eventually face consequences for harboring and promoting that type of behavior. And I feel sorry for the SAs.

I’ve had first hand experiences at Hermes FSH that prove that they make determinations about you based on your appearance. For example, if they think you are a reseller because you’re an Asian male. This thread is replete with examples.

I hate to debunk this.. but I’m an Asian male..

Really? What do they sell then?
I saved my money only to get ‘a bag’. I am the customer. But their marketing system made it feels like impossible to get one.

It would be different story if I was a Bryanboy maybe. I hate this kind of thing. They make us suffer in getting what we want.

I was wondering do they train all of their SA to lie? Do the SAs feeling guilty in telling a lie? Most of the SAs are heartless even after hearing my stories. They just do not care.

And one thing when I was in Montecarlo, Monaco (the epicenter of rich ppl). I saw someone getting a B25, Noir, GHW. Unboxed in front of my eyes as I entered the store. But then the SA said they have no bag. BS!

If you are Hermes SA and you are reading this. Ask the forgiveness from God! You have no idea how much pain and misery you put myself into in my journey to get H bags. I swear to God it wasn’t a pleasant experience.

You have hit the nail on the head! I was given the same answers when I asked for wallets Last week …. Infact while I was purchasing the perfume one SA mentioned that all the bags were picked by JLO a during her recent honeymoon in Paris… not sure if this was serious or ….
Also I know for sure they have stock but they r only making it difficult for us to create this crazy demand…
I live in Dubai and here we have everything available but the system is different, you need to build a profile and spend on other items only then there’s a chance… it’s so ridiculous here that they don’t keep Legend shoes in the open either and you really need to know someone to get a pair.. I have a first hand experience with this!!! Super frustrating

If she did indeed swoop up all the bags, then I imagine they did something like what @acrowcounted said to bypass the quota limits: created multiple profiles for her under different names - Jennifer Lopez, Jennifer Affleck, JLo, Jenny from the block, to name a few

Same with my friends who just left Paris! 5 day stay and no luck with the lottery system, daily walk-in's and ended up with some Picotin's and Chypres

Am sorry your appt was so stressful. I do tend to be slightly excited in anticipation of mine. Normally have breakfast and see my SA first thing while DH/ DS sleep in and go off on their own to enjoy Paris, (parks, museums etc) or to Disneyland. Tips for those with families who might not all want to be waiting all day at any Hermes while in Paris.
Bread n Roses was recommended by my SA and I meet many of the H staff there often. I don't think I have been to L'Envue yet.
The cafe at Sevrés is always nice.

its just I had never been into FSH before and reading this thread gave me a different impression
But, the SA was really nice (most SAs like my DH bc he’s chatty and interested about artisanal process, and not so worried about purchase or offer outcomes)

No they didn't. One of my friends bought two pairs, one for herself and one for me in different sizes and the SA didn't mention the limit, probably because he/she knew my friend won't be back any time soon or at least within the 6 month period

I quickly visited FSH today as I noticed that my hand cleansing gel was empty. It was quite busy, but I've seen worse. I bought the gel, then strolled around for a few minutes. Nobody at the SLG corner so I asked for a few items but they didn't have what I was looking for, 2 SAs said now in August, there won't be a lot of restock (especially for bags, SLGs should be better) and then I left. 10 minutes after, I remembered that tomorrow is my bday (!), maybe I should have made puppy eyes and asked if any appointment was possible So I tried online but I could smell the rejection from the moment I applied

A luxury item you don't actually NEED-
You are not talking about a loved one needing a kidney transplant!

+1 with @maxroxxherhandbags . Re members who are irate that FSH SAs tell them there are no bags, I interpret that as no bags for me. life isn’t fair. There are many ways, including resellers, to get bags. During Covid, there were plenty of reseller bag deals. And, post Covid, the Hermes and chanel made a corporate decision to restrict bag supply. As demand increased, there are naturally fewer to go around. Like @Miarta , I have a sizable collection already, but even if I didn’t, I would explore other options than just Paris FSH, which is far less sure than your local hermes. It’s entirely a gamble, and it’s up to you if you want to make a trip to Paris about a bag.

ETA: anyone on TPF at all is in a really wonderful position; we are all able to go to Paris lol; these are first world problems. When I get too agitated about someone else’s wonderful offer and not thrilled for them, (well except for the 9+ bags of purse Karen) it’s time to step away. It helps me to know that just because someone else was offered by dream bag, there is no guarantee that I would have been offered it. And I am sure FSH corporate has a policy re the statement no bags available and has decided that’s the simplest way to handle it. FSH or Paris also dictates policy for the rest of the boutiques.

if you like Japanese tea and sweets, go to Toraya. It's a few blocks away from FSH. I had ujikintoki (matcha shaved ice dessert) when I was there. very very nice especially during a heat wave.

Toraya also serves vegetarian or seafood rice bowl meals with miso soup during lunchtime.
