I will leave this reminder as a sticky because tthis is often a thread that new members (or new Hermès lovers) post on - hopefully temporarily.

It’s all about speculations but let’s be honest they is stock at least FSH. I personally think they are allow to sold a certain number of bags a day for non vip clients. When that number is reach despite the SA like you he can’t do much. Got take the exemple of a well know fashion influencer she always leave the boutique with was she want. They do have stock.
I think in the past pre spending had an impact but know no. Reseller learn that trick they will buy for 2,3,4K and still make very good commission.
Buy what you want love and not just the increase your change of getting a bag.

Totally agree with everything that is said above! Going to walk in with barely any expectations and see how it goes. Will be just exciting to visit the FSH store. My second option is a Constance to go so hopefully that will have a higher chance of being in stock.

It's less likely to be offered a C To Go than a regular C as I am told. I believe there are fewer around even though one is considered a wallet (SLG) and the other, a bag. Do please try anyway.

He definitely scrolled my pre-spend, then said straight after he was sure he could get me a Kelly. Then it turned out there weren't any for me (I'm sure there would have been some held for regular FSH clients). So, if you do get the appointment, pre-spending will probably help, but I've heard others get Ks, Bs and Cs with no pre-spend.

To be honest, it is mostly down to luck, I think....
Agree. But sometimes there isn’t any even if it shows up as available bc other appts are being serviced at the same time. I’m also not sure pre spend matters if you get the appt. I had no pre spend and I got a K25
Moreover, SAs are able to have a look at the inventory on their phones, they don't need to go to the stock room to check what is available.
My SA at FSH said she couldn’t see my spend (in my local store in the US ) nor could she tell what is currently in the stockroom without checking (as another TPFer posted, a bag currently in stock could be shown to another appt, therefore not available. . . .another reason why SAs may wish to start your appt by asking what your QB request is). Re specific other items, like RTW. she said stock is not updated in real time. That is why she went several times to physically check to make sure.
What I think happened is that he had to ask permission from the manager to sell you the bag you were looking for.
Stock being scarce, they are being stricter to whom they sell. If your not a local and/or don't have a big spending, I truly believe they need manager's approval.
I think they may already have criteria or pre approval as to what they can sell, and to whom. I don’t think it’s like a massive backstage orchestration. . . It would be chaos otherwise. JMO though

i do think they have bags. When you hear that there is no inventory. It could either mean none of your specific ask or simply no inventory for you at this time.

@bloomlush, it’s my understanding since CTG is not classified as a bag, if they have one, you may be able to purchase without a leather appt. (ETA: as per @periogirl28 above)

Hello, quick question… does anyone know what the Hermes Paris stores’ return / exchange policy is? Can you return / exchange stuff purchased in FSH to Sevres or does it have to be the same store? Lastly, will they get pissed or worse flagged if I returned something? I basically impulsed buy a bunch of stuff the other day and now realized I actually already have a few almost identical items back at home already…

They don’t refund you get store credit.

Best if you return to the same store. That way the merchandise goes back into their inventory

As others have said, there are no refunds, only returns for store credit and usually the credit isn’t good toward bags. And yes, they will not be pleased though you probably won’t get blacklisted unless it’s a substantial amount of purchases/money. Basically they don’t want people to come in and buy stuff in order to try to get a quota bag only to return those items when the bag is not forthcoming (or worse, after actually getting the bag). If they suspect that is what you are doing, they will probably be less happy to serve you in the future.

thanks for your input. Yes store credit is what I meant by refund. I can see how returning things could be perceived that way. I’ll probably just give those things away as souvenir gifts instead of returning to avoid any suspicion. Not worth.

U can exchange for something else.

I bought a few items in Monaco store on impulse just because they have my size. I don’t get them in my home store. But later realized they are not my style at all. I subsequently found something I really liked in my size in Sevres store and then exchanged the things I changed my mind on for it with a top up for the price difference.

They were quite busy and I had to wait quite a while for them to amend my detaxe form but generally they are fine with it.

A quick word on the app on the FSH SAs’ phones - it’s not particularly good apparently.

My SA said “no mini Lindy” according to his phone, but said he would go and check as the app is often slow to update… he found two in the stockroom.

Apparently the app doesn’t always show fast moving stock. Eg things are being returned to the stock room by other SAs / grabbed by another SA as soon as they’re signed back in etc.

I don’t doubt for a second there was stock the day I went that I wasn’t eligible for - as I said in my original post, I’m sure there was stock for regular FSH shoppers (and, maybe, but who knows, high spenders). I do genuinely believe that the SA would’ve found me my dream bag if he could have.

My SA’s advice was to hope for a mid morning appointment next time as he said that’s when stock is at its maximum for the day. I’m guessing that chimes in with the hypothesis that they’re allowed to offer a certain number of bags to non-regular clients.

I think a Mini Lindy in Gold was a MASSIVE score for me, regardless though. I maybe fell a bit too hard into the “gotta be a KBC” mindset that Hermès creates

Question for anyone who’s had appointments in Paris before.

I am going to Paris with a group of friends in Aug (worst time I know) but only a few of us are interested in purchasing a bag. Is it worth having everyone trying to score an appointment? Or should only the few of us wanting to shop try for one since it looks like payment must be done by the appointment holder? If one of us gets an appointment, can other people that comes with the person also ask for something too?

Thank you!

Yes it’s worth it to have everyone apply each day to maximize your chances at getting an appointment but I would only do so with the understanding that if one of the uninterested friends gets the appointment, they would be willing to go and also to pay. Assuming you are the friend benefiting from the uninterested friend’s appointment, you could go with them and basically take over the speaking during the appointment but only one of you will be able to ask for a bag (ie you can’t bring five friends and each ask for a bag). Good luck!
