I will leave this reminder as a sticky because tthis is often a thread that new members (or new Hermès lovers) post on - hopefully temporarily.

You aren't alone. Both my husband and I have been trying for 4 weeks straight and nothing. We've been to all the stores in Paris to plead our case, saying we've been trying for a month and no luck. We purchased RTW, fine jewelry, scarves, shoes. No appointments granted, no consideration given.
I wonder if this is part of the problem; going to all the stores to plead your case, maybe explaining to every SA how long you've been trying. It might give an impression of being a bit too desperate, or of trying to garner sympathy; none of that really fits the luxury experience and SA's might not be very interested in taking the case. We all know this is not a system where everyone gets their bag in a fair order, so letting the SA's know how long you've been trying might even be counter intuitive and not helping you at all.

I don't think so. I said "plead our case" but we simply asked if there were any cancellations that day as it was our last day and we'd both been trying for a month without luck. We tried at FSH first and then went to the others on their advice. The last SA at FSH even said we could try later in the day (but it was already 4ish) so we decided not to. I honestly think all SAs that we talked to felt frustrated by the process also.

All of the SAs we bought from were very nice as well but said they weren't able to sell bags to us after we asked. One even tried to get an appointment for us and she wasn't able to.

If I get a leather appointment and end up canceling, does that look bad? Does it affect my chances of ever getting it again?
Despite the fact that Hermes say the online system is random I think the system know how got an app recently. In my opinion you will have to wait a few months you already know how hard it is to get one so two..

My appointment was a great experience... I had a 1535 appointment that ended being pushed to 1700ish. My SA was great, really friendly and easy to chat with. He was genuinely trying to find me what I wanted - a Kelly 25 or a Kelly Mini - and came back from the stockroom really disappointed, as there was nothing left. He said he even looked at sizes bigger than I wanted and Birkins, as he really wanted to offer me an "iconic" as he called them. Apparently Haute Couture week and the fact it was the end of the day meant stock was very, very depleted. I genuinely believed him - during our original conversation, I said "I know a Kelly Mini is an impossibility, but I love them" and his reply was "Not in Paris - here we have everything, and I can almost certainly find you one". So my expectations - and my SA's - were raised, but dashed lol.

I asked for bright colours, and he asked if I was also open to timeless colours, and I said that I was.

He did, though, find me a Mini Lindy (my non QB request) in Gold, which is gorgeous. The more I try it on, the more I realise that maybe the Mini Lindys are more my ideal than the Kelly 25 or Mini - bit shocked to realise that... and it feels like I "should" be a Birkin or Kelly kinda gal, but... well.... I don't think I am!!

Just a word of advice: DO NOT interrupt someone else's appointment... My SA really frowned upon a woman who started asking me about how I'd got my app. (It didn't bother me, but he told her how inappropriate she was being - and on his way to the stock room to look for Constance instead of the Lindy - also none - he actually came back to 'save' me from her nosiness).

I'd pre-spent about 2,000 Euro on jewellery, but not sure that made a difference either way - altho he did scroll my profile as soon as he met me, and it was after that that he said how confident he was that he could find me a Kelly. I genuinely feel like if there'd been one he could've offered me (as a new shopper at FSH), he would have.

Living in the UK, and being so close for the Eurostar to Paris and then quick taxi journey to FSH, I think I might start using FSH as my 'home' store (I've not found a London SA - thought I met one at Harrods the other day, she gave me her card, said we must meet for an appointment etc but then I emailed and haven't heard back, maybe she's on holiday). I loved the selection there and felt all the SAs were super-friendly, although I felt intimidated by most departments as it wasn't clear who to ask for help / whether I could ask an SA to help etc.

I read some pages and did not find an answer so sorry if this has already been answered before:

If you go in for an appointment, is it a good idea to be very specific about what you‘re looking for? Like if I‘m looking for a HAC, is it a good idea to just straight up ask for it? Or should I beat around the bush and be a bit more vague?

If you're looking for a non-quota bag (I'm not sure if the HAC is), I would say what you're looking for, as they are not as limited as the other bags. If it's a quota bag, I would just say you'd like an appointment.

That said, I saw lots of people turned away on Friday by the leather appointments hostess without appointments, who were asking for things like Lindys / Evelynes etc.

If you go to another department and spend, do drop to the SA there that you were hoping to get a HAC but couldn't get an app online - eg I saw people in jewellery who'd spent probably in the region of €10,000 proactively asked by their SA if they'd like a leather app.

Oh I actually have an appointment for tomorrow at FSH :) I was just wondering wether you need to employ any strategies there….

I just checked in with the hostess (having done some pre-spending) and had a little chit-chat with her, but I didn't discuss what I wanted until I was with my SA. [So, basically, I employed no real strategy ]

Good luck!!
Looking forward to hearing how it goes!!

If you actually want a HAC, ask for it. Most of the people ask for the same small bags (K mini/25, B25/30, Mini Lindy/Evelyn... Mini everything!) so they will probably be happy if someone asks for something "different" like a HAC!
