I will leave this reminder as a sticky because tthis is often a thread that new members (or new Hermès lovers) post on - hopefully temporarily.

Everywhere I shopped I was asked for my passport for a tax refund. I would not want to incur the hassle of bringing a copy and then finding out I needed the original. Take standard precautions to protect your valuables and you will be fine.
Shopped enough at H this past trip that by the last day the SA ringing my items refused my passport stating he had verified it enough times that week. I knew it was time to go home.

Can anyone who recently shopped at the Paris stores recently tell me how their home goods inventor is? Like blankets, throws, pillows, dinnerware, etc... Thanks!
If you see what you want on their French website (just change the location to EU-France), you can just order them and use the pick up in store option right before your trip. The items normally arrive at the designated boutique in a day or two, rarely exceed 2 days from my experience. I started doing it for shoes and belts because they never had my size readily available at the boutiques and don't want to bother my SA at Sevres. You can always buy more stuff at the boutique that aren't available online.

Would they be able to do detaxe in the store for orders online?

I am SO excited to be heading to Paris (and hopefully FSH for a B30) in just a few days! I'm wondering about payment methods for such a large purchase.. does anyone know if you can "split" payments on 2 cards?

I've read above that you can do so with cash and a card, but wondering specifically about 2 cards.

Any feedback helps, thanks all!

That is done all the time. I witnessed it and it’s not a big deal. Happy shopping

Just returned from a day in Paris and nothing too exciting to report. BF and I both tried for appointments and got rejection emails well past midnight.

I was at the Bordeaux store and saw a B25 in gold being presented in the shoe area. The couple then proceeded to walk out with 4 very large white bags I am so curious what they got!! I did manage to get a pair or Oran Sandals in gold and a belt at the Bordeaux store while we were there. Stupidly I wore the wrong rise pants so I ended up going to Sevres in Paris the next day to try to exchange. They didn’t have the size down so the SA punched a couple of extra holes in it.

The Bordeaux SA was clearly in a bit of a rush when she helped me (not very chatty… maybe because it was close to end of day) and spelt my address wrong on the VAT form so I inquired at Sevres about that as well. The SA there confirmed it shouldn’t be a problem so fingers crossed on that.

At the end of her helping me I asked the Sevres SA about any leather appointment cancellations and she pointed me to another desk which I did not end up trying as there was a couple of people in line already so we decided to move on.

I went yesterday (Friday) just before 11AM at Sevres and was helped pretty much right away.
Walked by George V and there was maybe a 20 people line outside (LV was double the length yikes)
And then browsed by FSH around 2:30 PM. No line outside but very busy inside. Didn’t notice any bag offers but a woman with a mini orange ostrich Kelly with blue detail who seemed to be at the leather desk asking and being declined for an appointment.

Happy I got to see the stores IRL at least! Sevres was my favorite over FSH as it was larger, more airy and less hectic feeling.
