hi, my husband is going to paris tmr, he will not go to the store for me. but he says he doesnt mind trying the airport. Anyone has any idea of the stock in the airport? if no Qb, any picotin or other bags?
More likely will find Evelynes, if anything, and depending on the day may see bolide or garden party. It’s really been hit or miss over the last year. I also believe it’s dependent on who is working. I’ve encountered super helpful SA’s volunteering to look in the stockroom for other colors, while other times I’ve received a flat out “no, we have nothing” Without really showing interest.

It all depends on the SA I was offered a Evelyne 29 which I declined as I already had the color was also offer an Evelyne TPM . I had asked for a BKC and was told no to Birkin and Kelly as the don't get any, but was told they occasionally get a Constance, and if they have in stock and your lucky they will sell to you. Ended up purchasing 2 Clac Bracelets and a pair of Oasis Sandals.

I met mine via a leather appt, but she isn’t a leather specialist but housewares. She took me throughout the store and got me my 25K and offered a mini DC a style that I asked for, but which I rejected due to the bright color. I had also asked for RTW in dark neutrals (my size sells too fast in my local store) and I pointed to examples I liked. She couldn’t find any my size, so she suggested that I come back the next morning when she would have a curated rack waiting. Then she asked for my info. (She also helped DH in mens RTW but nothing fit or took his fancy). I went back and bought what i liked from her curation (three dresses that fit). We’ve emailed since. I prefer to make an appt with all of my SAs, not just H and not just in Paris.

i have to add that one reason why I was so stressed about my first time at FSH is I read that a client is passed around from SA to SA in each department. I don’t shop that way. If I’m going to a new store, I dress as per my usual so the SA sees what I like, and I directly communicate my taste to one SA. I don’t want to have to explain myself multiple times nor do I want to interact with multiple people. She specifically told me she will be happy to help DH and me storewide the two times a year I get to Paris. I told her then that DH and I will be focusing on RTW, not houseware bc of shipping issues.

i didn’t buy a ton of stuff, but I’m a quick shopper. this was a pleasant and easy transaction. Note: It was crystal clear that I will be a regular RTW client even without the bag.

that's so true. I really dont like to go from one SA to another. I wont say I enjoyed my recent experience in Paris :)

Heading to Paris now and wondering if you must request the appointment from the phone you’ll have with you if selected. Since I’ll be in the air, had asked DH to submit on his phone with my passport number. Not sure if I should attempt mid-flight with shady Wi-Fi.
All assuming it makes a difference to apply right at 8:30 vs later in the day…
Any advice appreciated!

You do need the phone you’ll have with you in the event you get an appointment. But for better chances you should both apply separately with different phone numbers and passports. You can apply anytime the store is open (10:30-6:30 if I remember correctly) the day before and it doesn’t matter what time of day you apply. Only exception is you have to apply on Saturday for a Monday appointment as the stores are closed Sunday (also double check any bank holidays). Hope that helps! Good luck!

Does anyone know if hotels in Paris can help ship items from France to a non-EU European country? I read that some ship (empty) boxes for you but not sure if they can also ship actual items (not bags but bulky items that are hard to transport yourself like homeware).

Of course; your hotel (assuming it's a good one!) will ship anything, but be aware of insurance on the package and taxes coming in to your country especially on brand new items. The boxes shipping thread noted in the sticky will probably still be helpful for you.

Fsh itself does help with shipping but you won’t be able to claim for tax refund

I never ever thought I’D be the one reporting back with good news and a beautiful story of my own, but I’ve only just returned from victory and have to share while it’s fresh!!

Hold onto your hats … so I’ve been in Paris almost a week and as you might expect it’s been rejection after rejection for the lottery, 3 applications a day!! (with my 2 passports, and my husbands 1 passport). Frustrated and frankly defeated I stopped over to the Sèvres boutique after noticing the line outside wasn’t too long, thinking that maybe I could stir up a miracle (outfit: plain white tee and tan linen trousers with a pink Evelyne TPM)… after engaging in a bit of small talk and getting to know the lady helping me i started by asking about SLGs and about some porcelain from which I was missing two soup plates (I did go ahead and buy these)… annnd then I politely spilled my guts: I told her it was incredibly disheartening that a true Hermes lover like myself could suffer rejection after rejection at the lottery and very likely leave empty handed this coming weekend, and that I was drowning in my disappointment. She seemed to truly be hearing me out and quietly took me to another lady in the front of the boutique who’s job it was to separate the walk-ins from the appointments at the door.
(this part is important)

with this *direct referral*, which I understood in my limited French as “this customer has not been able to get a leather appointment for around a week, please see what you can do”: I was asked by the door SA what it was that I wanted, I grew hopeful… after giving her my wish she quite quickly said; there are no cancellations today and that I should come as early as I can tomorrow but not before 11:30…

I felt defeated once again, but I also felt a twinkle of hope in the parting glance the door SA shared with me as I left… now, I’ll say these two things: ONE, I strongly feel as though there is a lot of subtext to what you are verbally told at Hermes in Paris, for the sake of overhearers, both staff and clients alike…and TWO the power of who is seen for leather rests ENTIRELY in the hands of the lady at the door with the iPad no. One. ELSE. I felt IN MY BONES that this Door SA was telling me to return tomorrow so that she had TIME to work something out, but she couldn’t say it directly as there were staff and clients all around like ears in a wall!

Next day, I wear my best available touch of hermès without trying too hard: rouge H birkin 35, cape cod double tour Barenia watch and a matching Please Check In scarf around my neck, I show up promptly of course (DH is German ) and immediately the very same door SA recognizes me, looks me up and down, quite plainly sizing me up and asks me to write my name down in her iPad and quickly sends me upstairs to wait…

no less than 20mins later I’m collected *by name* by a charming leather specialist who asks me for my wish (I knew not to vomit my list right away and stepped the conversation back to introductions and explaining why I was here and naturally led into what my wish was)…and to cut a long story kind of shorter she returned with this: *see attached*

TLDR: the lottery is not the only way, seek to connect with the staff at Hermes and make your case! So often we are told they are unfeeling and impersonal, it couldn’t be further from the truth! Try your hand and have confidence!!! GOOD LUCK XOXOXOXO

That’s a lovely story! Congratulations

I had a question for the experienced shoppers. Do you have to carry your passport to the Hermes store or will a photocopy work? I’m scared to carry my ppt around Paris.
A funny aside ..my SA here was encouraging me to try the lottery system when I told her I’m going to Paris but not sure if I should even bother. She said 'you are very lucky' ..let’s hope it’s true

FSH can ship anything abroad but bags, you will get vat deducted but will have to pay import tax and vat in your receiving country and of course shipping fee. I've done this many times.

Your hotel should be able to pack and ship anything at a cost. Just inquire with your concierge. Also, just ask at FSH what they can do!
good luck :flowers:
