I will leave this reminder as a sticky because tthis is often a thread that new members (or new Hermès lovers) post on - hopefully temporarily.

IMO when/if a new FSH SA encourages regular contact, it stems from a natural, organic shopping experience. You do not need to be instant best friends with an SA. It can be friendly but it’s foremost a professional relationship. It’s helpful if the purchases aren’t eked out; premeditated for prespend; or limited to the usual greatest hits or popular status signifiers, but buy what you love. In my case, I don’t always have things in mind; rather, as an SA gets to know my taste, I want to see what they suggest for me. (This does not take much time; despite my internal debates with myself, it takes about a few minutes for me to decide what to get and I‘m sure enough that I never return).

Other more knowledgeable TPFers said that it’s advisable to stick to one store, one boutique. Their advice was not for Paris leather appts, but rather presumed the need to strengthen a local SA relationship for aid in obtaining QB or other limited stock. For most part, it’s practical for me to stick to my local SA; he knows my taste and what I already own. FSH simply has more selection and a different buy of RTW and other stock available than my local SA can source (as per my own SAs admission). Neither my local SA nor my relatively new FSH SA have any issue with my shopping habits.

But all of us have different experiences. So regardless of what anyone advises, it’s probably easiest to just buy what one would otherwise want, even without a QB. That way, if a QB materializes, it’s just the bonus on a fun shopping trip. (I was stressed on my first appt at FSH mainly bc I hate being treated like a new client and a tourist, but I got over it). I am grateful for my good fortune of the QBs that i have already obtained this year. I know not to expect it and certainly that it’s not guaranteed, even in a Paris leather appt. Just my own experience, and yours may vary.

ETA: @mauihappyplace , congrats on your beauiful box B30. I adore box leather, phw, and dark neutrals. I am so happy for you!

apologies to all; I write lengthy posts.

Hoping to get a special bag in Paris. Of course need appointment first but does anyone know if exotics are possible…the bags that I want are probably too unrealistic… exotics, doblis, heritage leather…trying to figure how to create a wishlist just in case. I don’t want a mini anything so maybe that will help. I also would like a non quota bag Plume - do you request both or the quota bag first?Any advice would be appreciated. I have read this forum and this thread in particular but wanted more input about exotics and other less common leathers. Thanks
Update:FSH- No exotics with my spec ( very few) . Victorias but no plumes. But I asked for a special or heritage leather and this was my offer B30 Box Noir PHW

Are you getting the auto response to try again tomorrow? I think this happens when the system is overwhelmed and sometimes, if you try again in a few minutes, it will go through.
Yes, it's an automated response and it's immediate. If it's that the system is overwhelmed, I understand. Just hoping they haven't mistakenly blocked me for some reason. I've never re-sold a bag, made a complaint or any such thing. My home store SA and I have a great relationship, so hopefully it's just too many inquiries. Thank you for letting me know.

+1. My FSH SA and I have communicated by email as well. (but my focus is RTW that is not available at my home store ; as per my local SA and the director of RTW)
 I basically have always emailed (and now Whatsapp) my RTW/ shoes/ silk and jewellery SAs independently in advance to request items. They consolidate it all and I then arrange to meet my Charge Clientèle when I confirm my dates to visit, they bring everything together and we then discuss bags/ SOs. I find this the most efficient way to use my appointments and minimise time with my very busy SAs. So far only Maison is a little difficult for me as I was reluctant to ship so much porcelain or consider shipping any furniture. Those I would purchase or order locally.

I just came back. So what I can say is it’s possible. When I return to Paris, I will be contacting the same SA as there are a few things I’m looking for and he did encourage me to email him before I come.
May I ask if your new SA is based at leather? It seems to be encouraging that SAs from other departments are establishing longer term relationships. Thanks for sharing!

Typically, when you shop at the different departments at Paris stores, like shoes, do SAs typically offer their name cards / contact info after you check out (buy a bunch of stuff)? Or you have to ask and potentially get rejected?

and if you do get the department SA’s info, do they prefer you to contact them for future appointments vs walk-in?

Yes I know some SA they do that , that’s why I am upset that even thou I am offered a bag I wanted but still couldn’t “charm” the SA to have their email or WhatsApp for my next visit. When I request next Appt she told me enjoy ur new bag and see u year end if you coming back. lol

I met mine via a leather appt, but she isn’t a leather specialist but housewares. She took me throughout the store and got me my 25K and offered a mini DC a style that I asked for, but which I rejected due to the bright color. I had also asked for RTW in dark neutrals (my size sells too fast in my local store) and I pointed to examples I liked. She couldn’t find any my size, so she suggested that I come back the next morning when she would have a curated rack waiting. Then she asked for my info. (She also helped DH in mens RTW but nothing fit or took his fancy). I went back and bought what i liked from her curation (three dresses that fit). We’ve emailed since. I prefer to make an appt with all of my SAs, not just H and not just in Paris.

i have to add that one reason why I was so stressed about my first time at FSH is I read that a client is passed around from SA to SA in each department. I don’t shop that way. If I’m going to a new store, I dress as per my usual so the SA sees what I like, and I directly communicate my taste to one SA. I don’t want to have to explain myself multiple times nor do I want to interact with multiple people. She specifically told me she will be happy to help DH and me storewide the two times a year I get to Paris. I told her then that DH and I will be focusing on RTW, not houseware bc of shipping issues.

i didn’t buy a ton of stuff, but I’m a quick shopper. this was a pleasant and easy transaction. Note: It was crystal clear that I will be a regular RTW client even without the bag.

My home c

for my home country Asia they purely looking at 1:1.5 spend to score a QB, that make me go FSH since 2012. I was lucky each time and I buy what I like. This time I actually purchase only belt and oran , Clic H after I got offer a Kelly 25 Sellier. Which come Unexpected as is a neutral colour I wanted.
but I really hope one day I can have a sa whoI can communicate with priorI reach Paris.

Did you buy anything in your prior visit that would add up to the oran and clic clac, to get the bag offer?
