The kiosk for VAT is inside the airport after the entrance revolving doors. For terminal E it’s near door 3. Look up CDG airport map for reference.

There is a machine to scan your VAT claim forms from your purchases. If the scan is approved, the VAT claim will be processed and you’re good to go. If the machine scan of your VAT claim form is rejected, you have to queue for the Detaxe window (located meters from the machine) and the officer behind the window will review the VAT claim forms, ask to see goods (show them), stamp approval, and you will have to drop off the VAT claim forms in their respective mailing envelopes into the VAT mailbox next to the Detaxe window. Once finished proceed to check in your luggage.

My advise is to plan an hour for this process as the lines may be long. Also pack the VAT claiming goods in your carry on luggage for easy access, like right after unzipping the carry on luggage. Best if person who packed items in carry on luggage also handles the VAT forms to avoid confusion and panic. No need to show boxes. If you scored well in Paris, some people in the queue will the giving you the thumbs up lol.

Safe travels
This is so informative. Thank you for taking the time to share.

I would love to hear some success stories. We visited Paris last year and I had a really good experience in FSH when I got a walk in appointment the first day of our visit. I got offered K28 that I bought as well as another non quota bag, also straps, exotic bracelet, etc during our stay. I'm trying now for an appointment as I'm free now to travel anytime for next few weeks. It is now 3 weeks with no success. Has anyone tried so many times and got an appointment eventually?

I think it was just much easier to score a quota bag last year with the pandemic. Literally everybody I know that went there last year got offered quota bags (several got mini kelly's), not as easy this year now that the travel restrictions have been lifted and many more tourists back on the shopping spree. It's pure luck at this point unless you have a go-to SA.

No success either. Bought a bunch of other stuff though. I was treated very well in the store but did not get a quota bags or leather appointment. Maybe my sa was not the right one?

Hi no luck here either. Tried to stand in line yesterday morning which the line probably had about 45 people. They just turned people away and said to keep trying online. Some people say it may take a month or more for an appointment. It’s very unlike pre pandemic where you get 20% luck for an appointment. Would love to hear other peoples stories on walk in appointments during mid June if they are even granted bags.

I was super lucky to score an appointment at the FSH store during my birthday trip to Paris this week. I was hoping for a B30 in either Gold Togo with PHW or Barenia Faubourg Fauve with PHW. I couldn’t believe my luck when I got offered the BFF w/PHW … just what I was hoping for

In case helpful, I had a 12pm appointment, and my husband and I arrived around 5mins before to check in. We waited for about 1.5hrs before an SA came to take us upstairs. There isn’t any communication or updates during the waiting period, we just sat patiently waiting our turn. The SA was very apologetic about the long wait, but I had anticipated a wait in advance, and our patience definitely paid off in the end!

Hi, i just got the same leather as yours. Where do you see the date stamp of when it was made? Thanks!

Congratulations! How many times did you try online for an appointment until you finally got one?

Hi! I must admit that we got very lucky (I’m realising this even more now when reading this thread!). My husband and I both tried online for appointments and did not get one - so we visited the store on my birthday and we spoke to a lady in charge of the appointments. I don’t know if maybe it was because I was wearing my Birkin, or that I mentioned the specific bag I was hoping for and she knew they had it in stock, or if it was just pure luck, but she gave us an appointment for the next day!

We also visited on a Wednesday with the appointment on the Thursday - the store was busy but there was no line outside FSH on those days. So perhaps try your luck mid-week!

It’s really all about luck when securing an online appointment. I was talking to my SA at FSH about the lottery system the other day and we both agreed that despite its faults, it’s still the most egalitarian way of allowing everyone a shot at purchasing a B/K/C (I say « shot » because it’s still possible that you won’t come out of the appointment with one). Other than Tokyo, Paris is the only city in the world (correct me if I’m mistaken anyone!) where your purchase history doesn’t matter, you don’t need a standing relationship with a SA and you’re not expected to purchase other items.

It’s possible, though, to get an appointment on the spot like @Amy1ouise. I’ve seen it happen several times but frankly, I’ve seen more people refused than accepted - there are so many variables involved (is there a no show, how many other people before you have already asked, is the hostess tired of hearing the same request) that it comes down, again, to a bit of luck. The only useful information I can think of giving is to avoid asking for an on the spot appointment during lunch hours (from 12 to 2 PM). I’ve heard the hostess and SM refuse people because too many SAs have gone on lunch break.
