I will leave this reminder as a sticky because tthis is often a thread that new members (or new Hermès lovers) post on - hopefully temporarily.

I have found only appointment confirmations come within that time frame. If you receive a text between 8-8:30 you’ve got an appointment, otherwise you’ll get an email anytime in the later evening (I’ve gotten a rejection email as late as 11pm). Also, this past trip I received an appointment on second try after selecting “no preference” for stores and it sent me to FSH perhaps because I have purchase history there? Or perhaps just randomly.
Thanks so much for your response!

Hi everyone, I am taking a trip to Paris at the beginning of May and plan to stop by a few of the Hermes boutiques to inquire about the Kelly Depeche 36 (briefcase). Would I need a leather appointment or can I just walk in? Thanks in advance!
adding on to this— would I need a leather appointment for a bag that is branded / marketed as a mens bag? Even if leather? Or does a leather appointment refer solely to “womens” leather bags?
TIA
At Sèvres last week they were willing to show me any men’s bags without appointments however i had already in the process of buying a scarf. I do think it depends on your interaction with the sa helping you.

Further to @cad33's comment, I too have been advised that men's bags don't require appointments, but this was purely as a walk-in, rather than mid-purchase.

You may find that this is easier at quieter times of the day/week, but I have been offered assistance like this both at FSH and Sevres over the last 8 months.

I always schedule leather appointment as a catch all, ask for the desired bags first and if they don't have what I want, they can always help me with other items from shoes, accessories, pretty much everything else I want but the bags. Most of the SA's I've dealt with in Paris are really sweet and eager to help.

great insight, thank you all!
i will definitely plan to ask about and purchase in other categories, but was unsure if my very obscure bag request (ie an Etriviere Sac Shoulder) needed to go through the intense lottery process:nuts:
Glad to hear it doesn’t seem like they do

Yes, thank you all! I am also relieved that I don’t have to play the lottery for an appointment!

Been in Paris for a few days. No luck on the lottery. No luck on walk-ins. Attempted an appointment through my hotel, no luck. A few lessons learned: Hermes only accepts 3 hotel appointments total a day from a handful of the top luxury hotels and are booked two weeks out. FSH’s inventory is very limited on options and sizing still, but I did find a few limited edition scarves that are to die for and some beautiful Collette moccasins in blush suede. Got one more shot at the lottery for tomorrow then moving on to other European destinations. Wish me luck!

Do you know from which exact hotels they are accepting appointments?
Thank you!

omg guys I just got a confirmation of an appointment tomorrow at Sevres!!
Now I am super nervous!!

Do you think it would be possible to ask for a mini kelly croc? I really hope the Easter holiday won't cause super-low stock level in the shop....
Congrats! Never hurt to ask, most of the SA's are nice and quite honest about their inventory. Sevres is actually my favorite location, got 2 of my dream bags there. Good luck with the appointment, may Hermes god blesses you with your dream bag :graucho:
