Hi all, do you think the time of appointment you get matter? For example, you have more chance to score quota bag in the morning when the store just opened rather late late evening when the store is about to close? Thanks for sharing the insight!25a
My appt was on Valentines day late afternoon and I was able to get a 25K. I wouldn’t lose hope either way

SA and I didn’t have time for me to shop RTW yesterday, (she said she would need some time to pull sizes and pick things for me) so she suggested I make an appt to come back today. She had a bunch of things for me to try and I had a lot of fun. I ended up with three new dresses (the RTW selection is fantastic and larger than NY) Im short, but medium framed and I took a size 40 I think. (I have H pants in 38 and H jackets in 40) Total for all three was about 5600 USD which is far less than dior or chanel.

@luckylove , what i bought today ( I think the first dress is from last season but IDK lol:

what I wore to H (first two pics: H sellier baseball jacket, clic cardigan; dior hoodie dress; chanel techno combat boots) and some of what I tried on (a dress and cardigan). SA and I were both happy about how the bag she found yesterday looked on me today
DH and I had a great time and will be able to shop with her when we are next here. Note delivery service to hotel is much more organized and discreet than at home, but they cannot transport your clothes back (which makes it a bit harder to wear your purchases out of the store lol

anyway, I was very nervous about yesterdays bag appt (bc I was afraid of buying the wrong thing out of some misplaced FOMO, or FSH being intimidating) but I had no reason to be. They were perfectly lovely and I am looking forward to visiting again

DH also tried on a seersucker suit and a bomber jacket but they didn’t fit correctly on his shoulders

note: my NY SA and the FSH SA honestly don’t seem to have any issue about DH and I shopping on twice yearly trips here (ie I don’t think it will impact anyone offering me anything subject to normal H limits which apply to all of us except presumably VIPs)

Same! My appointment scheduled for 6:15, but I ended up getting in early at 4:30 and scored a 25K as well. My appointment in November was at 1030 and I left empty handed due to “no stock”. I think it just depends on your connection with SA and current stock.

Hi everyone! I applied for an appointment in Paris but have not heard anything. I’m assuming I didn’t get an appointment but like with most things H it’s pretty frustration. Can anyone shed light on when you typically would hear from them? It states between 8-8:30pm but it’s well past that time frame now. Tia!
I have found only appointment confirmations come within that time frame. If you receive a text between 8-8:30 you’ve got an appointment, otherwise you’ll get an email anytime in the later evening (I’ve gotten a rejection email as late as 11pm). Also, this past trip I received an appointment on second try after selecting “no preference” for stores and it sent me to FSH perhaps because I have purchase history there? Or perhaps just randomly.

If you need to keep your US number active it’s $10 a day to use the international plan. I don’t love it for the price on a longer trip and for the cell signal you seem to get paired to. I now just buy an Orange holiday sim - if you will be in other parts of Europe, it works in a bunch of countries and is 40 euros and comes with 10 GB of data and a bunch of calls and texts. It’s plenty for a two week trip. The sim only works if your phone is unlocked. I like Orange since it’s the biggest carrier in France. Plus if you use that sim at least once every six months (topping up the data and calls/texts), you can keep the number active. (I go back to paris every year and used to live in paris where I had orange and freemobile cell services.)

Interesting! So the orange SIM card comes with a French number?

Disregard, my iPhone seems to be locked so the SIM card won't help me :(
Can you use a US number for online appointment making, or does it need to be French?

I have a very silly question...Ive never actually used my cell abroad. DO you all just buy a plan through your carrier? (I Have AT&T) or a SIM card from Orange something?
Funny that truly the only reason I need to use my phone is to make sure I don't miss a status update message should I be lucky enough to get an appt as I understand they frequently change the times and I don't want to rely on wifi.
I also have AT&T. You don't have to do anything special. The minute you use your phone in France they'll start charging you $10 a day which will give you unlimited talk and text. You don't need a SIM card.

Would like to hear some advice about choice of boutique. For my last visit earlier this month to Paris I made around 10K euro spending at Faubourg and that’s the only record they can see in my profile (despite I have been shopping around the world since 2016) and I got no bag (not even non quota one) that day.

It seems to me my chance of getting a bag without an leather good appointment maybe higher at Serves / KGV if I am going to spend similar amount again… or do you think I should stay with Faubourg ? I just found it very hard to keep an relationship with any SA when they runs by department.

Do you tend to stay with the same boutique or prefer to visit different shops?

I am going to visit Paris again for a week in May and really hope to know what I should do

Technically you don't need data to book their online appointment, as long as your phone is connected to the wifi. Double check if your hotel or Air BnB have complimentary wifi. The online appointment web page will ask for your phone number with the country code for SMS and your passport ID number. With that said, I think the SMS's they send you do require data on your phone as I recall them being in green text bubbles.

Hi everyone, I am taking a trip to Paris at the beginning of May and plan to stop by a few of the Hermes boutiques to inquire about the Kelly Depeche 36 (briefcase). Would I need a leather appointment or can I just walk in? Thanks in advance!

You can definitely book with a us number. I booked with my US and also with my French sim. I have AT&T and it switches to a slower network in France which is why I buy a local sim. Also easier to make local calls with a French number. AT&T also throttles your data every day. I personally think it’s terrible in Europe. Sometimes the maps won’t load when I’m trying to find my metro route. I had a Verizon work phone that I used to use on visits to France that was much faster.

You can also go to any of the boutiques and do your online request there on your phone with their wifi. You can ask for the the code from appointment concierge so that you don't have to use data. I had to do this every day because I wasn't receiving texts for some reason, even with the $10 daily plan.

adding on to this— would I need a leather appointment for a bag that is branded / marketed as a mens bag? Even if leather? Or does a leather appointment refer solely to “womens” leather bags?
TIA

I always schedule leather appointment as a catch all, ask for the desired bags first and if they don't have what I want, they can always help me with other items from shoes, accessories, pretty much everything else I want but the bags. Most of the SA's I've dealt with in Paris are really sweet and eager to help.

At Sèvres last week they were willing to show me any men’s bags without appointments however i had already in the process of buying a scarf. I do think it depends on your interaction with the sa helping you.
