When I was at FSH a few weeks ago the SA mentioned how they get 8000-9000 appointment request a day(and it can be higher) for about 300 appt slots between the three stores. I'm rounding, but you have about a 3%-4% chance of getting an appointment each time you try. It doesn't matter how many times you apply, you're working with the same percentage chance each time like everyone else.

I'm sure its been pointed out before but I felt the need to restate it again to help give perspective.
I too have read this. its better to go to Paris with a if it doesn’t happen I’m okay with it mentality.

Thats a great attitude and based on my experience in Paris hermes there are other wonderful items you can buy- this past week i bought some shoes my home store doesn't have, Japanese scarf limited edition and today a calvi duo(to me that was almost as good as the lottery).

What shoes did you buy? Did you happen to see if there were any seasonal or interesting colors for Orans or Oasis? I’m heading there in June and August and definitely looking forward to stocking up on colors or items my boutique doesn’t have.

hi all! question for folks who've shopped in Paris...I'm heading over in June.
Not looking to grab a QB, but wondering which items are worth getting there - like, did folks prioritize snagging stuff they knew their SA would have trouble tracking down (i.e. aforementioned Calvi Duo)?
trying not to overthink it but do want to let my SA know i am still spending with her and just wanted to get stuff that is hardest to source in the States.

TIA!

Why mention your Paris shopping to your home SA at all?

I bought rose gold santorini and black santorini. I have larger feet and find my boutique has limited larger sizes for this type of shoes when available.

I alao have calvi duo on my wishlist with my local sa and will probably still ask at my home store since this colour is very spring like- light purple(lilias).

I come from toronto- a smaller store which doest order everything.

My advice would be to concentrate your energies on your home store and building a relationship there.
Paris SA will have seen many people buying across all categories in the hope of being given a leather appointment.
I rather suspect that the money you have already spent in Paris and the items you purchased would have got you nearer to your goal in a store near where you live.
JMHO
Thank you for your feedback. I was actually advised by my home stores to try my luck in Paris. There are limited stocks coming to my home stores and one of the two that I am a regular cannot sell exotic leather, and the other is selling at 20% above Paris price due to tax issues. So they are both advising me to try in Paris.

I am happy that I am indeed buying items that I like and the selection is still better than in my home stores. I just found it harder to start building a relationship with any SA since it runs by departments. Was thinking if it is easier to do so at FSH or Sevres, as I am going back again next month and hope to see some small leather goods like calvi and rodeo etc. If I can get a leather good appointment it will be icing on the cake.

Any suggestion and recommendations would be very much appreciated.

I think it depends on the relationship you have with you home sa. I asked about a few items via email to mine and she told me to get there here if available.
Same for me, I also told my home SAs what I have got, so they know what I have already got and what next they can look for me.
As some of those I got are items that I expressed interested to them before, and I would not want to waste their energy to try track those down for me only to find out i have purchased them already.

Hi,
I just flew back from Paris today. I was only there for a week and I did not have a ton of time but I got quite a few things that were not available in my home store including mosaic sushi plates, deep sneakers, scarves, a coin purse in rose sakura which I bought because I tried for the last 2 years to get something in this colour from my home store. I also got some beautiful leather perfume atomizers that are limited edition and not available in North America. I purchased quite a few things but inventory is scarce and changes by the day. SA’s repeatedly stated that stock was low and the situation would remain that way for months. I went to FSH twice to get the Fouborg Tropical scarf in the colorway I wanted. I was shocked to discover they only had 3 140X140 scares in the entire store! They literally sell out of scarves in a day- inventory is that scarce!

I would agree that if you are going to Paris just for a bag you are likely to be disappointed!Paying for a plane ticket, hotels, meals, taxis and transport adds up and can gat you a long way to your Quota bag in your home store!

I found out that my SA moved on and I was not able to get a new SA. A friend tied to get me an appointment with her SA and was told that she could not get her a leather appointment anymore let alone a friend. I was able to secure an appointment through my hotel but did not get a quota bag. I wanted a mini Kelly or Kelly 25/28 sellier no preference for hardware in a seasonal Color or a neutral. Second choice would be a Birikin. No luck but I was offered a mini-lindy in rose Sakura which I accepted. FYI I saw a lot of Lindy's being offered so I expect that this bag will be available in stores soon.

I also got a Evelyn’s tpm in gold at a different store, just happened to get lucky as The weather was horrible on Friday and the stores were almost empty so they allowed me to get the Evelyn but we’re very firm that walk-ins cannot get a B/K/C. Evelyns were plentiful and again I would ask you SA if you were interested as bags tend to come out in batches from Paris. SA also said Constance’s were going to be next to impossible to get this year as production will be very limited for C’s. Eventually I think all leather appointments in France are going to be via the appointment system.... sad as those of us who do not live in Europe will have very limited chance to get a bag.

I have attached photos and wish everyone the best of luck! The struggle is real!

Yes it was a nice consolation prize as I really wanted a bag in rose sakura. I started the appointment off with saying that I know the following are likely not available - mini kelly, box kelly rose sakura.. so I think she knew she had mini Lindy's in rose sakura so that is what I got offered. I really did not have a mini-lindy on my radar but the day before my appointment I read this article https://www.purseblog.com/hermes/the-6-hardest-bags-to-get-from-hermes/ which indicates the ML is generally a hard to come by bag.

Congratulations!!! May I know how was the process like to turn the non-leather good appointment into a mini lindy!! it is amazing.
All of the SAs I encountered just told me 'any leather good need to go through the system...' and wish you good luck to me.

I saw so many resellers...and I really feel frustrated we can't beat the way they get the leather goods appointment with an 'army' of staff with passports and telephone number...

I agree 100 percent and feel sad that most of us normal non resellers or influencers cant get appointments. There is something special about a dream bag from Hermes in paris. Fyi for other brand shoppers here- the situation for brands like goyard is really bad since they have limited stock and lineups. Ironically the place that had small waits was the samaritine. Also remember they need your passport in person nowdays.
