I will leave this reminder as a sticky because tthis is often a thread that new members (or new Hermès lovers) post on - hopefully temporarily.

Less than 5 minutes later she came downstairs with a big box and asked me to follow her. I was stunned. She pulls out the first color I asked for (Vert de Gris) and asked if I needed anything else. That was pretty much it - said I got lucky and they had what I wanted.

For what it’s worth, I don’t think she even looked at my purchase history (which is pretty decent, but not excessive, and nothing in the last 3ish years). I’m convinced it was just luck.

I’ll post better photos later but here’s a quick one. I LOVE the color so much.

Gorgeous! Love this color! Congrats dear!

I am heading to Paris at the end of March for a business trip. It looks like all the H stores are appointment only and I don't think I will have enough time to stop by or accommodate an appointment. Is the store in the airport fairly well stocked as well? I am looking to buy a Kelly/Constance to go wallet and a tie for my fiance to surprise him with. My only free day would probably be Sunday and it looks like all the stores are closed at that time.

I believe it is August, but I'm not 100% sure. Feel free to correct if I'm wrong
Chances are not slimmer.Bags are available year round. The issue is demand. So during Fashion week, for example, you may have more people asking for bags which makes them harder to get. But it all comes down to luck in the end.
Totally true. I got an Etoupe birkin from FSH in late August. Store was just as busy as ever

I’m happy to read the fun stories on this thread, and i try not to mind the newcomers who want to know the position of the moon at the time of an appt (not referring to any post in particular)

It really is up to luck and good fortune, and it is difficult to duplicate another’s path or game the system

my SA cautioned me to ask for imoossible things but be prepared to be offered a [insert bag you don’t care for: a mini roulis, in my case]

H may also offer a bag to another person that, for whatever reason, is unavailable to you. That’s life. It’s also why some knowledgeable TPFers advise that an easier and more certain path to a bag you love is via your local SA

I agree with member 880,
When I was in Paris a few years ago (as a tourist), I managed to score my absolute dream color combo Birkin within 3 days of arriving.
But now that I live in Paris since Oct 2021..........I can't even get an appointment....and when I tagged along with a friend (her appointment) a few weeks ago, I can't even score a non-quota bag in my friend's appointment.
So, it is all based on luck.
Nothing else really matters (not outfit nor time of appointment) but pure luck.
So, for the lucky ones who manage to get an appointment, have a long long list haha. Include some non-quota bag (I included everything from Quota bags to entry level canvas bags in my friend's appointment but nothing was available).

=====So, when I actually get my appointment someday (hopefully soon, as I am not staying in Paris permanently), I will just not over think and show up ;)
After being a temporary Parisian since 2021,,,,,I do notice that scoring a bag in my home country even with extra purchase seemed an easier path...as at least it is more a number's game and we usually guarantee the exact color we asked for...but in Paris, it is almost like gambling at a casino with blind folds on...sometime, we walk straight to the wall instead of to the roulette table, and somedays, we can't even find the door to get into the casino LOL

I am asking about the time off because while I was fortunate to be offered two B’s to choose from last summer, I came across a post on TPF that mentioned something about artisans taking a month off and bags being almost impossible to get during that time.

Just out of curiosity, wouldn’t the impact be on the subsequent months and not the month that they actually take off?
