I will leave this reminder as a sticky because tthis is often a thread that new members (or new Hermès lovers) post on - hopefully temporarily.

I didn’t mean to offend those who purchase the fourbis. I was just pointing out that fourbis are offered more often in Paris as opposed to said my local store or most stores in the US because of the amount of b/k offered in Paris.
One of my friends bought the fourbi in Paris thinking that’s the only option available to her in term of organizer hence my statement. I’m sure there are people who would love to make that purchase.

For me it’s about protecting the bag and fourbis are not easily available where I’m from. What I do know is, I’m happy to purchase from someone whose service I appreciate. What else is there to know.

Very Respectfully,
Madam H

Yes like soccerzfan said it’s because it’s a lot less common to hear SA suggesting it in local boutiques instead of FSH...hence why I took notice that it has been mentioned multiple times in this thread.

Also obviously just my opinion but fourbis are not the only option for H bag inserts; there is a super long thread (https://forum.purseblog.com/threads/bag-inserts-list-new-updates-page-191.688779/) with many suggestions and discussions for other options. Doesn’t mean it’s not a solid purchase though as long as it suits your needs! Enjoy your new stuff!

Hi lovely people! Was wondering have anyone scored a B or K 40 before in pairs?
is it easier to score big bags in paris? I heard you need to do quota purchase before they even show you any B,K,C now.
I have an upcoming trip but still deciding if i should proceed due to the virus crisis.

My Hermès Stories.

Now that I’m safe home and a month has passed, I’m compelled to share my stories too.

My first Lindy in 2015.
It was still a queueing system at FSH. Waited 2hrs in line when store opened, met an SA. Told him we were on honeymoon and wanted to bring home a bag to remember. He told us to come back in the noon. We did and was offered an indigo and poppy L30 with GHW, took that and three twillies home with us.

My second is a 24/24 in 2020.
Frustrated cos we couldn’t seem to get an appointment at FSH and not for the lack of trying, we headed to George V in the noon but the greeter had no more appts and suggested we come day after. So next day we queued and got a slot. SA was cordial but not enough to wanna shake hands, and this was before Covid-19. Asked for a B/K 35 to commemorate birthday shown a mosaic and I declined. Eventually offered a 29/29 PHW in a gorgeous gray and decided to purchase because it was a beauty. Didn’t feel the love from the SA but got enough from the bag so swipe it.

My third is a K35 in 2020.
Tried 8 times but couldn’t get an appointment at FSH. Waltzed in ard 4pm on day 4 and asked if by any chance I could get a slot and was fortunate enough to be given one. Didn’t feel an immediate chemistry with SA but at least she shook hands. Asked for a BK35 shown a picotin 18. Said no thanks and left. Was right about done.

Husband suggested going on a day famed for no deliveries - Sat morning. I wasn’t keen but the sweetheart really wanted me to have a nice memento. Queued outside FSH and was fortunate enough to get an appointment after of course, failing to get an appointment online.
Met a lovely SA, who really listened to what I wanted, and pretty much got me what I asked for - down to the shade, size and leather. Walked out with a K35, fourbi, a scarf and wallet for my good man. Wonderful way to Cap off a shopping trip for our anniversary and my birthday.

also ended up getting a twilly from the airport. That’s four stores this trip - we even popped in Sevres (got an appt, they didn’t hv what I want, the usual)

I really like the idea of buying a nice memento on trips to remember the vacation. But I do wish the process wasn’t as stressful. I don’t believe in the resellers market and have only purchased from FSH even though I live about a 14hr plane ride away.

Moral of the story, go with a partner and persevere. After all the alchemist said,
when you heart truly desires something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.

I hope my next purchase will be as pleasant an experience as my last. Fingers crossed.

Good luck H lovers.

Very Respectfully,
Madam H

Maybe it has something to do with H corporate looking at the amount of b/k sold versus fourbis and realized they can maximize profit there on non-leather goods. I think most people especially those are not in the know will accept it if it’s offered.

I love my fourbi, and I think they are superior to anything else on the market. I know you can get inserts with pockets and customisation, but to me there is nothing like the real thing. Of course one can find cheaper alternatives, but that’s true for anything Hermès

Good to hear positive feedbacks on fourbis. I’ll keep it in mind if I get lucky in Paris.

Yes, got a noir B40 a couple of years ago at FSH with no prior purchase history. First memorable step into the Hermes journey.

@souphamster
I am aware that you are looking to purchase in Paris but I just found a gorgeous in practically new condition 40cm Birkin with GHW in the much sought after Barenia being sold by none other then our very own DocRide for well below what I believe a current new 40cm in Barenia currently costs. I know that this doesn’t really belong here but I since I am trying to help a member out and it isn’t my item for sale etc. I hope you will allow this to stay and I promise to only post it this one time. This way you could get an authentic 40cm Birkin from a reseller that is very well regarded on this forum and still have the opportunity to take your chances in Paris. You know what they say about a bird in the hand... it just may really take the pressure off in Paris. I personally purchased this in Paris at FSH in a size 30cm in April of 2019 and was over the moon because I had wanted this exact combination for YEARS! And it is very difficult to get direct from the store. It is currently push only. No POs or SOs for this and my SA said the last time prior to mine that they had one at FSH was 9 months earlier. But, it is a very special leather that comes with certain understanding and expectations and it definitely is not for everyone but for those of us who love it, it is definitely divine and like no other leather!

Anyone else that’s travelling to Paris in March? My trip is coming up in 2 weeks but I don’t know if I should cancel or postpone due to the virus situation...seriously I’m not worried once I’m in Paris city but the flight, airport and train is what I’m worried about

I’m just now leaving after 2 days in the city! Everything seems pretty normal, FSH was a little busy but not as busy as the past. I say as long as you wash your hands constantly and avoid unnecessary physical contact with people, you should be fine.

I think once we are inside the city it’s fine. Hope you have enjoyed the stay in Paris! If it’s not off topic would you mind giving us an update about the airport etc once you get home safely?
Thank you!
