My Update:
Success!!! It’s a beautiful day here in Paris after some rainy and windy weather. DH and I spent the day walking and exploring the city. So beautiful. We heard there was going to be a strike later this afternoon which would cause traffic headaches and delays. Luckily we were on foot. We arrived about 10 minutes early for our 4:00 appointment. We checked in at the desk and then waited about 30 minutes. I was too nervous to explore the store so I stayed close the desk but DH wandered around. They called our name and we met our SA who was so sweet. Super friendly and was asking about my past experience with Hermes. Was this my first bag etc. She took us upstairs to the fine jewellery room. It was only us there and the security guard. She asked us if we wanted a drink. We had some water. And then she asked what I was looking for. I told her a Birkin, 35 cm in a neutral colour. She asked if I had a preference in hardware which I didn’t. She then said to wait and she would be back. I was so excited and nervous. I couldn’t really move at first. DH explored the room and looked at all the amazing jewellery. i managed to join him and take it all in. Incredible!!!
We waited for about 20 minutes. When she returned she had one huge box, one shoe box sized box, three twillies and a etoupe Bearn wallet. So I was pretty excited that there was a Birkin in that box.
She said it was the last neutral Birkin they had. If I didn’t like this one she could so me a yellow or green. She opened the box and is was a 35 cm in chocolat, Togo leather with gold hardware. I absolutely love it. The colour is amazing, it changes colour in the different lights. I am in love!! She then showed me an organizer and the twillies. I took the organizer and one twilly. I don’t need a wallet so I passed. Now I regret not getting another twilly and the wallet. Will have a look at duty free tomorrow.
She told us due to the strike she couldn’t have the bag sent to the hotel but would give us a white bag to walk with discreetly. We paid and she gave us her card in case we return. It was a wonderful experience. Here are some quick photos (hope they work) I am still on cloud nine.

My Hermès Stories.

Now that I’m safe home and a month has passed, I’m compelled to share my stories too.

My first Lindy in 2015.
It was still a queueing system at FSH. Waited 2hrs in line when store opened, met an SA. Told him we were on honeymoon and wanted to bring home a bag to remember. He told us to come back in the noon. We did and was offered an indigo and poppy L30 with GHW, took that and three twillies home with us.

My second is a 24/24 in 2020.
Frustrated cos we couldn’t seem to get an appointment at FSH and not for the lack of trying, we headed to George V in the noon but the greeter had no more appts and suggested we come day after. So next day we queued and got a slot. SA was cordial but not enough to wanna shake hands, and this was before Covid-19. Asked for a B/K 35 to commemorate birthday shown a mosaic and I declined. Eventually offered a 29/29 PHW in a gorgeous gray and decided to purchase because it was a beauty. Didn’t feel the love from the SA but got enough from the bag so swipe it.

My third is a K35 in 2020.
Tried 8 times but couldn’t get an appointment at FSH. Waltzed in ard 4pm on day 4 and asked if by any chance I could get a slot and was fortunate enough to be given one. Didn’t feel an immediate chemistry with SA but at least she shook hands. Asked for a BK35 shown a picotin 18. Said no thanks and left. Was right about done.

Husband suggested going on a day famed for no deliveries - Sat morning. I wasn’t keen but the sweetheart really wanted me to have a nice memento. Queued outside FSH and was fortunate enough to get an appointment after of course, failing to get an appointment online.
Met a lovely SA, who really listened to what I wanted, and pretty much got me what I asked for - down to the shade, size and leather. Walked out with a K35, fourbi, a scarf and wallet for my good man. Wonderful way to Cap off a shopping trip for our anniversary and my birthday.

also ended up getting a twilly from the airport. That’s four stores this trip - we even popped in Sevres (got an appt, they didn’t hv what I want, the usual)

I really like the idea of buying a nice memento on trips to remember the vacation. But I do wish the process wasn’t as stressful. I don’t believe in the resellers market and have only purchased from FSH even though I live about a 14hr plane ride away.

Moral of the story, go with a partner and persevere. After all the alchemist said,
when you heart truly desires something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.

I hope my next purchase will be as pleasant an experience as my last. Fingers crossed.

Good luck H lovers.

Very Respectfully,
Madam H

Is it just me or does it sound like Paris really wants to sell you fourbis? I keep seeing that word mentioned in the stories...

I think there is a :push on for the fourbis" & perhaps if the patterns & colors were more interesting, H might have
more of a captive audience for them
I think that H got the fourbi right in terms of size, function & shape but JMO colors & patterns could be improved

I'm seeing that a lot too. I think I've seen it in my store but my SA hasn't even mentioned it. I'd consider it if it was one of the pretty silk ones...I think if I was in that position at FSH I'd probably get one.

Yeah, that's what made it stand out to me too! I've never been asked about it at my local store when I buy my bags, but seems like FSH likes to ask the people who scored a bag if they'd like one...and it's not like it's a big ticket item (well, relative to other things in the Hermes world).

Yes, I'd love it more for sure if it's a pretty silk print. Currently hunting for the Travelsilk packing cubes for exactly that reason! I do use inserts & would love for there to be a reason to choose Hermes products...

Anyways, good to know I'm not the only one who noticed them being mentioned more than once in this thread!

Maybe it has something to do with H corporate looking at the amount of b/k sold versus fourbis and realized they can maximize profit there on non-leather goods. I think most people especially those are not in the know will accept it if it’s offered.

For me it’s about protecting the bag and fourbis are not easily available where I’m from. What I do know is, I’m happy to purchase from someone whose service I appreciate. What else is there to know.

Very Respectfully,
Madam H
