I will leave this reminder as a sticky because tthis is often a thread that new members (or new Hermès lovers) post on - hopefully temporarily.

Did anyone else cancel their flight in May to Paris? Scheduled this trip for only Hermes and now I'm hesitant in flying over there due to Italy's outbreak. France has no intentions on closing their border due to the coronavirus.

I'm thinking to cancel the trip to Paris too. I'm going to UK in April and planning to stop by Paris for Hermes originally.

My recent experience:
I was in Paris 2 weeks ago, with the thought that a lot of Asian tourists would have canceled their Paris trip due to the epidemic and that I would stand a greater chance of scoring my dream bag. I was wrong lol. There's always a line outside George V in the morning. I couldn't get the appointment at FSH even after I think 6 or 7 tries. I finally got an appointment after speaking to the lady at the door near the leather department, was told that they didn't have any Kellys since it was a Saturday and no delivery on Saturdays (of course I knew she was lying).

Hi there - I’m actually supposed to fly to Paris next week and we’re struggling with the same issue. I think we will still end up going but we’re definitely concerned.

Has anyone here cancelled their trips or recently visited Paris?
My sis was going to Paris in Feb, cancelled. Then she was thinking April, cancelled too now. She is not concerned about the situation in Paris. It is being in the airplane for hours that scares her. I usually would have booked my Paris trip by now, but I am waiting for this whole virus thing to go away before I can get on airplane to go anywhere. We understand that thousands of people die of flu caused complications. However, we just do not want to risk it, after all, we only have one life. lol.

I'm so sorry to hear! I have to say it is becoming harder to harder to score an appointment, no let along a bag in Paris. The stores at Sevres and George V are even harder to get bags. The FSH hosts at the leather department are becoming jaded with people asking for appointments to the point they have gotten really good at turning people away. They don't care if you tried many times online.

I lined up this morning at George V (I was 7th in line). I met my SA and showed him my list and he was pessimistic because the bag I wanted is very rare (I asked for the Kelly) and he was so sure they don’t have it. He went to check and came back 5 minutes later and told me they don’t have the bag. I asked him if they will have a delivery coming soon because I’m leaving Paris soon but he said they don’t get notified of any deliveries and they don’t communicate with the other boutiques about bag availability. I think you’re right about the low stock at George V. I got rejected for the 5th time (plus 4 more) st FSH. I was thinking of passing by tomorrow to explain the situation to the hostesses but I know they wouldn’t care as you said :(!

I leave for Paris this weekend and it is planes and airports that concern me.
My doctor told me that if a passenger around your seat coughed when delivering meals, you had better not eat it. The circulating air in planes is the most worrisome... We could see how terrible that is from the case of Diamond Princess.
Hope I didn’t scare you.

Best luck on your trip. May it be safe and fruitful.

Thank you for the good wishes ":flowers:!
I think at this point we are probably off-topic, but from an epidemiological standpoint IMO it's down to our immune systems - unless we want to avoid travel completely which for me is not possible. If you smoke and/or are immune-compromised I would say, be extra careful or consider canceling travel, depending on where you are.

I would recommend that you go and explain your situation to the hostess or any SA, thats how i got my appointment in Nov, I was offered a K25 and it was late in the afternoon so nothing is impossible.

That is exactly my thought; if you are healthy, I wouldn't change any plans but if you are someone that easily catches every little bug that comes around, or have a weak immune system, then I personally would reconsider travelling.
We all are concerned and worried over this outbreak although we can't forget that we have to continue on our journey....

Girl I'm asian too in the U.S. and the racism has been unreal. I will reschedule my flight as well, thank you so much for the update and stay safe!

I’m Asian from U.S. too. We went anyway in the week of Valentine’s Day. Wore surgical masks throughout the flights although 99% of the passengers did not wear any.

We heard about the racism and psychologically
prepared for it, but it turned out to be fine. People were more friendly probably due to the decrease of tourists(?). Had been to a few French restaurants and were served nicely. Hermès was still the same, but the atmosphere in other stores and outlets were much more relaxing... less customers, short or no lines outside of LV and Chanel in dept stores, no fighting over last available piece of the limited items... LOL

I will. The thing is the moment you even speak, they immediately decline. May I know whst was your situation and how did you explain it to the hostess?

I was actually declined at first, i then bought a shoes and ask the SA who helped me to try for me and it worked. This works most of the time, i didnt get the shoes for the appointment i was actually looking for them.

We're supposed to be headed to Paris in two weeks so I'm curious about this as well. I was planning to tag along on my husband's work trip but their meetings were abruptly cancelled today. We're now debating whether we should cancel our trip now as well.
