I will leave this reminder as a sticky because tthis is often a thread that new members (or new Hermès lovers) post on - hopefully temporarily.

I’m sorry you had such a bad experience but my guess is that because it’s august they had no stock in sevres. At least that’s what they told me last Friday. And they even said that it wasn’t necessary to come on Saturday because they won’t be receiving anything.
I tried my luck at FSH and got offered my birkin 35 in étoupe without having to buy anything else and I am Asian!
Did you have an appointment in FSH? And what did they tell you?
Wow. Congratulations on your B35. May I ask did you come straight to the point and say you wanted a B?

sorry to hear about your experience! i can totally understand how depressing it is to not be offered a bag after putting in so much effort. it wasn’t clear from your post but did you spend all at FSH or you also bought things from the other stores? also was it all from one SA or a few different ones?

from what i’ve read on this thread, the best or “easiest” way is to buy high jewellery and/or RTW. seems many people get offers when they make those kinds of purchases. but again no guarantees.

but don’t lose all hope, your profile will look very good now and the next time you have an appointment they will see you are a loyal customer and i’m sure they will offer you something. i know now whenever i get an appointment they always look at my history and it makes a difference! and i’ve never bought RTW or high jewellery either. just stuff like you did, shoes, accessories etc.

also look at the positives, i’m sure you saved a lot of money buying your items in Paris vs back home right?
That's looking at things positively, I agree with what you're saying. One question: people have said French SA's don't have access to US customer purchases. Do you think that's true?

The SA said hello to me and then straight asked how can I assist you with a bag. So yeah you kind of need to tell her what kind of bag you’re after immediately. Just show her you know the brand the differents kinds of leather the colors. I talked to her like 5 min before letting her go check her stock

THAT is amazing. Was she someone you had an appointment with?

Will buying gold/diamond jewelry allow you to "skip" the appointment process? Any idea the amount of spending on these items would be required to do that? I'm eyeing a couple bracelets that I would consider buying in Paris if I pick up a Birkin as well.

I have no idea but definitely try to register online everyday for an appointment. You usually get one after the 3rd or 4th attempt. And if not try to buy the bracelets on your last day

I am planning to do the same. I emailed a SA in the jewelry section (I got his card when I made a previous purchase two years ago). He said To me that I have to book an appointment online, I told him what if I wasn’t given an appointment after several time as I am staying in Paris only for 3 to 5 days, is it better for example to make my purchase in another store like sever. He replied to me as follows:
Our system of appointment works randomly. Sometimes you get it at first try, sometimes it failed several times.
In that specific case, I suggest you to come personally in store and ask an hostess to find you a sales assistant. Usually, when it failed several times, we try to find somebody available to serve you.

By the way, if you prefer to do your shopping in other Hermès stores, it is up to you.

I am in Paris, and thought I’d share my experience.
I thought it was the best shopping experience I had in a long time. Thanks to this blog. I tried for an appointment before leaving for Paris, I got an appointment on the 3rd try for 10:30 am. The securit guard sends everyone upstairs. All SA are lined up and they pair you with one, after you check in. The SA sits you down and asks what your interested in. I told her I wanted a Evelyne TPM, told her my color choices. I then went to tell her my choices for a B and K. Went down the list, I was very honest. She asked what my first choice would be, I told her a black Kelly 25 or 28. The SA walked away. I was sitting next to a women I met in line, and we chatted for about 10 minutes. Her SA brought her to a room, and I overheard him tell her he had several choices for her. My SA walked up with one box. I could tell it wasn’t a Evelyne. We walked into the back room, and she brought me exactly what I wanted. A black Kelly 28!!! We walked downstairs I looked at some bracelets, she gave me her card and told me to come back the next day for the Evelyne.

While looking at bracelets I saw another customer with a Blue Birkin 30 getting a matching scarf.

A lot of the SA were walking out with several boxes.

I think telling the SA exactly what you want, and showing some knowledge of H helps.

I am no expert, but knew the color and leather of the bags I own. I was dressed very casual Jeans T-shirt, and Gucci loafers. Only H item I was wearing was a CDC. Literally landed at 7:30 am from JFK.

I think if they have what you want, there’s a good chance you’ll get it.

What I did learn from her, 600 ppl try to get appointments every day. They only give 100 a day. Shipment comes in the afternoon, she told me what time to come back for the Evelyne. The France system, doesn’t link with the US. She couldn’t look up a color of a Evelyn TPM that I bought.

I hope this helps anyone reading this. I don’t usually post, but this blog is the only reason I feel like the H trip was successful.

PS I also tried getting an appointment with my husband passport. He has been denied 4X. Will try once more today.
Congrats on your K28! So lucky to get what you’d asked for especially in August. May I ask what time your SA said delivery is in the afternoon? Or what time she asked you to return the following day for the Evelyn? TIA!

Not to be a downer, but when I inquired at the end of April/ beginning of May out of sheer curiosity. I was told that they get a minimum of 1000 appointment requests daily of which they only accept 100. That makes the odds much worse, IMHO. It could be because most Hermès clients know about the workshop being closed in the month of August that they may be why they told you 600. But, either way it just shows how much demand there is for an appointment and as we all know an appointment is no guarantee of a handbag. I cannot imagine that they have 100 B/K/Cs to offer every day.

Also, a little tip that I learned one cannot try on the display handbags without a leather appointment downstairs, but they have (or had when I was there) tons of handbags in the display cases upstairs. After I purchased some items upstairs on a different day from my appointment day during which I completely forgot to try on the various Kelly sizes (due to being offered and ultimately purchasing my holy grail handbag 30cm Birkin in Fauve Barenia) my very sweet sales associates (I had 3 helping me!) allowed me to try several upstairs.

I’m sure the demand for appointments fluctuates during the year. Just wanted to pass along any info, as this thread was very helpful to me. I was surprised based on the info from this thread that so many ppl around me where being offered bags in August. If there are 10 appointments at 10:30(just guessing by what I saw) I know for sure 3 ppl where offered bags. To me, 30% chance is pretty good. Who knows...maybe it’s better to go when Hermes clients that know about the workshop don’t go. Wanted to add that my husband never got an appointment after 5 tries. Anyway, good luck to everyone trying to get a bag. Read the thread from the beginning of the new system, very helpful!
