An update to my recent visit to the store, I was finally given an appointment at 1030am after 2 failed online attempt. I was given my first choice of Kelly 28 sellier, super [emoji2] View attachment 4210038

However in the later morning after I dropped my bag at the hotel, on my way to George V at the tube station at Concorde I was pickpocket and all my $$ was gone. So please be very careful when taking the tube and do not look at your phone and hold tight to your bag.

A very eventful and emotional day for me!
Your bag is to die for... congrats. Glad your ok.

I was in your shoes in June - turned down a B35 in Rouge Casaque as it felt too big for my needs. Broke my heart, but it was the right thing to do. It gets better - I did have some second thoughts of regret, but overall, it was the right decision for me. I would have used it out of guilt, but would have never been honestly happy.

This is exactly how I felt yesterday! To be honest, I was just not after Birkin at all, although the size and leather and possibly even colour were right had I been looking for one. I was chatting to the lovely sales assistant who was helping me and she was saying these days people come into Hermes and ask for a Birkin or Kelly in any size/colour/leather, justifying their request as “it’s just a bag”. Dry strange to me as it’s a €7k+ item and, what’s more, a piece of handmade art. It’s like going to an art aiction amd and asking for any expensive painting, because it’s just a painting... very strange.

Congrats to your new bag, but sorry for the pickpocket incident.
Like what the rest were saying, glad that you are safe!

I think these bags won't stay long with the purchaser, if you get my drift. Some appreciate the craftsmanship, many others do not.

Congratulation on your sellier beauty
But so sorry to hear about the incident.
I also almost got pickpocketed by a bunch of youth near Concorde. I had a buggy with my daughter on it, put her a side a bit, took out my mobile to take a picture of the view and 2 people (1 male and 1 female) started shoving petition papers on my face, crowding me and trying to engage me to have a look. I huffed and puffed gesturing for them to move out of my view but also extremely aware that I might get mugged. I held my dolce & gabbana shopper bag tight against me, as I know it would be easy for them to snatch the bag.
Then when they realised that I was guarded, they backed off and turned to the opposite direction. When I took the buggy next to me preparing to leave, a 3rd person (a girl) came out from behind me, trailing the other 2. Obviously, she was on my back ready to perhaps stick her hand into my bag.

I was a bit shaken up after that, as if they had pounced couple of second after i took out the mobile, while concentrating on the screen, the story might have been different.

Everyone please be safe while in Paris. Now lets get back to the bag stories :-)

I have to say, even with possibility of delivery gone wrong, I still utilize carrier service from the shops. I simply don't like carrying anything and have even sent very small and light things such as twillys to my hotel.

Safety issue people mention is another issue. There is a group of teenage pickpocketers hanging out near Laduree all the time, I gave up hand carrying anything when shopping at St. Honore area. The last time I carried out a shopping bag from Gucci at Rue Royale and crossed the street to walk over to my hotel, those girls actually asked me what I bought. They've seen me too many times in the area, they act as if we are friends. Sigh...

There was also a bag snatching incident many years ago, with couple of dudes on a bike attempting to steal the large LV shopping bag my sister had, near the Opera. They came from behind, when we were focused at a window display of a store. Not only my sister could've lost her bag but also get hurt, as she said she actually felt the front wheel touching her foot. So it's not just losing money that should be concerned about.

I really hoped to make my next visit to FSH to be in January, as it really seemed the best time to go. But I am running short of mileage to make my airline membership tier, so looks like I would be doing it December instead. Now that I finally had my bag buying experience from FSH, I don't think I would be frustrated as before. If they don't have bag I want, I guess I'll just get something for my mother as her Christmas present? I'm just hoping I get an appointment during the short time I'm there as it seems you need to apply for one at least few times these days. I have given up asking for a bag from Sevres or George V though. I know there have been some success stories but eh, I don't think I'd ever be that lucky myself.

. Very strange indeed. Though I guess it’s a resellers world out there.

Hello,

Does anyone know what the stock will be like beginning to mid Jan'19?
Also, if I got the chance to get an app do you think if i only asked for a B25 or B30 with my specific colours, leather and HW details I will be able to get one? or do i have to give other bag options? because i only want a B and won't be able to accept any other bags. TIA!

Yes, there are those with money to burn who don’t care because it’s “just a bag” but, on the flip side, many who aren’t choosy about color, size, etc have read horror stories about how HARD it is to get one, at all, and are just so excited to be offered and would be thrilled to have just about anything... I know w my first one, I had my preferences, but honestly, wouldve accepted anything just to be an owner of a glorious beautiful B:heart:

Lol this is definitely how I'm thinking. The only thing I would say is no black, brown or any shades of beige neutrals.
