Hi everyone!
Finally I’ve found some time to write about my last experience with the appointment system...
I was in Paris last month for a few days (25-28/05) to celebrate my birthday with my family.
I’ve been at the FSH store a few times before and I was aware of the new system but I wasn’t keeping full track of this thread and I didn’t know how hard it was being to actually secure the appointment.
So, I thought I had it all sorted. I was going to register on Friday promptly at 10:30, in order to get an appointment for my birthday on the 26th, Saturday morning.
Since it has been also my wedding anniversary in the beginning of the month, my dear husband promised me that we would visit the store together and find something really nice for myself
I left home with a 10 item wishlist printed in my purse.
I registered 4 passports Friday morning and by 7:30 pm we all got our negative responses. I couldn’t believe what was happening. Since I wasn’t aware of this, I felt more than disappointed, betrayed actually, being rejected like that even though I’ve been such a loyal and devoted customer.
Next day, on my birthday morning, all I could think about was that I had to go to the store to try to understand what went wrong with our attempt to get the appointment.
Arriving there I met a very polite gentleman that suggested I should try my luck at Sevres and George V took my passport to look in the system and assured me I would be able to get an appointment for Monday. Then I told him I was flying home on Monday and he said I could come at 10:30 even if my appointment was for a few hours later.
George V was close to my hotel and was crowded since early morning so I didn’t feel like trying.
On the other hand, the visit to Rue the Sèvre Store made my day much better. First of all they were having a lot of events to celebrate Mother’s Day and my little one managed to make me a beautiful leather necklace that I loved.
In addition, we managed to secure an appointment (although the gentleman who had talked to me at FSH said it was not necessary) for the afternoon - it’s not in the same system, but they register your details and send you a message when the SA is ready for you, which happens some hours later...since, for example, I’m my case, there were 20 people to be assisted before me.
Back there in the afternoon my utterly kind SA told me they didn’t have a single fancy bag in the stock that day but she could try to find me the black Evelyne and the Sangle straps I wanted. She ended up finding both, but since I was waiting for the appointment for on Monday I only took the straps.
Unfortunately, we all got rejected again for Monday’s appointment and my birthday celebration that night was a little less fun because of that.
We actually didn’t know what to do on Monday morning since we didn’t have the appointment but I couldn’t come back home without trying one last time. Completely hopeless, I went to FSH promptly at 10:30 only with Hubby and my little one. We went directly to the second floor following all the happy people granted with the morning appointments. I patiently saw everyone being checked in and introduced to their SA and then I explain the situation to one of the “check in” ladies, to whom I also explained I was told by the polite gentleman to be there Monday 10:30.
Okay, she said, grabbing my passport, please wait here for 15 min while I check with him.
I thought I was going to have a heart breakdown or something. After less then 10 min she came back smiling with an SA and said: It’s okay for today and this is your SA.
Still hopelessly, I gave her my wishlist which she carefully analyzed. Since I also had mini Evies in the list she asked if she should bring them together with the first options if she could find all - of course!
She took FOREVER to come back. I could see the ladies drinking coffee and juice and being offered others bags then B/K/C but I could see they all looked happy.
I saw trough the mirror when she came with a pile of boxes and went to a hide corner before asking me to follow her. Then she said she found me one of my first options and also the Evies and that I could take all if I wanted. She also brought a compact black bearn wallet and a compact silk in to go with my mini Evies.
The bag was the Black Togo Birkin 35, PHW, third in my list. I brought her and a black mini Evie home together with the silk in wallet, some scarfs and some leather bracelets. I was thrilled!!! It was an awesome experience an worth it for sure all the anxiety and the pain!
