I am not sure how the shopping works at LV Vendome these days. I went in Nov and we had to get an appointment with an SA, you couldn't just walk in and shop. That may have changed though. Definitely the LV Vendome location works well with hitting FSH and Chanel. It is a very pretty store too. I believe there is an LV in Galleries Lafayette but I've never actually been to any of the department stores in Paris. If you are trying to get a bag at H that could easily consume a day itself if you go to all three stores. For me I hit H first as what I get there usually dictates how much shopping I do elsewhere. Enjoy your trip!
Thank you so much for the response! I was hoping to hit LV first as I want an item hot stamped and not sure how long the wait would be. But I'll have to see it scheduling around Hermes as I was hoping to get a picotin. I will be sure to update when I come back!

i wouldn’t risk trying for an appointment on a day you won’t be there because you never know. also i HIGHLY doubt they check purchase history before allocating appointments. there just isn’t time for that when you consider how many appointment requests are made.
I am a business analyst, so I can tell you it is very easy to identify your purchase history. They already have your purchase history in their system linked to your passport and you have to enter your passport when you register to get the appointment. With just 1 simple query, I can produce a result in no time. It is also very easy to only show those say with higher than certain amount of $ purchase, count by number of bags/scarves/jewelry purchased etc. And I am pretty sure IT can also create a web portal where anyone without any IT background can pull a report with just 1 click. Since there are always going to be people with no history to visit, I am assuming even if they check your history, they keep a % for no history people. I do not know how Hermes assigns those appointment. I am just saying it is a very simple query to do, and it does not require any manual checking at all. With technology, they can segment us any way they want very easily.

Hello,

This is the first time that I am posting to this forum. So, I hope that I posted to the right place. If not, please let me know and I can repost on a different thread. :) I have been an avid reader for about a year or so. I came to this specifically for Hermes. I have researched online at all the resale shops, The Real Real, Fashionphile, etc. And they had Birkins there for quite a bit of money. Sometimes more than what the bag actually costs in an Hermes store.

This would be my first bag purchase of Hermes. So, I am being very careful as to what I want to get. I am a guy that wants to get a Birkin 40 CM or Birkin 40-45 CM HAC. I have been looking at leathers and I definitely want something textured. Togo, Clemence, Epsom. Any others that you can recommend would be great. I am very rough on my bags so, nothing smooth would not be good for me or something that easily scratches. Does anyone know if they still make a Birkin 45 HAC?

I recently went into an Hermes Boutique in California, and they were very nice and I talked to two SA's together. I asked them how hard was it to get a 40 CM Birkin in black with palladium hardware. They told me that it wasn't impossible. As the said that because of the size, it's not as popular and told me that chances may be easier to get than a smaller size. They told me that they never get them in that size at the South Coast Plaza Store in Costa Mesa, CA. They gave me some tips. They told me to buy from the same store and get into the system and purchase smaller items. I am in the system, as I have purchased small things, scarves, bracelets, etc. I informed them that and they said great. They then told me when I was ready to purchase to come back and they said that can see what was available and see if they could locate one for me. I then asked what the price was for the bag, the SA told me that it was $13, 800 for Togo.

Now this leads me to my up and coming Paris trip. I understand that you must make an appt via smartphone. And all that you need to do to get the appt. I have also been told by a friend that when she went to the Paris FSH store and got her Kelly there. She gave me all the info and she also told me that if you have purchased items in the other countries besides Paris, they can't look at your history. She asked her SA if she could look up a past purchase for an item she wanted to get her friend. She informed her that she couldn't look it up if she didn't buy it in France. She could only see that she was in the system. So, I guess you don't need a vast purchase history if you didn't buy it in France. (Weird)

Based on your forum for the new 2018 prices for the 40 CM Birkin in Togo, is about $11, 00 US. Based on taxes in the US, I am looking to pay in excess of $15, 000 US. That's a savings of about $4, 000 US. That's quite a lot of money in savings. So, I guess my question is, has anyone scored a Birkin that large, with any success in the FHS store by appointment? From what they told me here in the US, maybe they may have what I want, since it's not a popular style in that size. Sorry for the long post, but I am probably rambling now.

If anyone can give me some pointersbirkin-2Bman-2Bbag-2Bwhere-2Bto-2Bbuy-2Bprice-2Bonline-2Bebay.jpg 1560ff53777de0688f923797126a2029.jpg 09682de719210cef778058bb52513ae1.jpg that would be great and also what textured leather types you like.

Thanks so much for your help!

I have attached some pics of the HAC, can anyone tell me if that's a 40, 45 or 50 CM? And does anyone know if that charm is still available or does it come with bag? Thanks again!

My husband and I are thinking about a trip to Paris as of last night, we don’t have any set time to go, just anytime between now and this Autumn. It would be fun to go to FSH for the first time and see the atmosphere after hearing about it and pick up some items that are hard to find in my home store. I would also want to register for a leather appointment and hope to get a spot; are there any weeks to be avoided other than around August?

I personally wouldn't go to Paris simply for the chance of maybe getting a Birkin at a cheaper price than US. Once you factor in expenses of the flight, hotel, etc it won't really be cheaper. Also, don't forget there are customs fees when you reenter the country. And you might walk out empty handed anyway. Large size bags should be fairly easy to get in the states. I've seen B40s on display for anyone to purchase as recently as last fall. Good luck!

Hermes doesn't get all your purchases history from your passport. If you purchase from Duty Free stores at the airport, those stores are franchises (from what I have read here) and are not linked to Hermes. It's really disappointing when you buy handbags at Duty Free and Hermes doesn't have record of it.

That's true. But from what people reported here, it sounds like they only care about the purchases from their store specifically. If we think about this logically, each store is responsible for their own profit, why would they care about the purchases (e.g. scarves, jewelries) that we make in other stores and offer us their most wanted B/K/C in their store? If you travel a lot passing one airport, you can also build up a relationship there. My sis is able to have a great relationship with a SA at the airport. Over the past 2 years, he has offered her 3 Cs and 1 K25. She was also able to find a 140 scarf that I was searching for all over the world through this SA. H games seems to be extremely easy or difficult to some. Now, let's get back to Paris shopping topic.

I was previously told that artisans go on holiday in the summer and return in September so stocks may be lower in the summer ‍♀️
That being said, I scored my b30 on September 1, 2017

My SA told me the appointments at FSH are assigned at random. I now suspect after reading this thread that after one tries a few days in a row, the chances increase. Clients/ friends I know personally with long (and large) purchase histories have failed at obtaining appointments if they only try once.

i believe this. plus as my passport number had changed from when i made purchases at FSH they wouldn’t have been able to find my purchase profile. i guess my point was that there’s no actual people behind the scenes going into everyone’s profile to allocate appointments. obviously they could just allocate using a computer based system but i don’t think they do based solely on purchase history. i’m curious if anyone has tried for more than 3 days without success of scoring an appointment since it seems third times a charm for most, including two of my friends i went to paris with.

FYI I tried 4 days in a row rejected every single day...

I only got my birkin through creating a great conversation with the SA who helped me with shopping for other items on my wishlist...

Thank you, My memory is not the best, but I think they are on vacation in August. I wasn’t sure if there are other big events or festivals to avoid coinciding with. I believe most have already passed this year (like fashion week etc). It seems best to avoid big events like these to enjoy the city in general in any case, so I can probably find advice on travel websites.
Congratulations on your Sept B30 :)

Hi all, I've been following this thread religiously for almost two years and am finally heading for Paris at the end of next week. I'm hoping to get a B/K at FSH but am also intending to buy an Evelyne and possibly a shawl and a wallet as well. I thought it may make sense to buy these first before my appt for the B/K since it seems that it still does make a difference if you have some purchase history? However if I want to buy the Evelyne before the appt, would i be able to buy it as a walk in customer? Thanks all for your advice and wish me luck!
