I will leave this reminder as a sticky because tthis is often a thread that new members (or new Hermès lovers) post on - hopefully temporarily.

I think it is unfair to all the people waiting in line that friends join in. You have waited patiently for your place in line and then get bumped further down only to potentially not get an appointment time. I think this should be brought up the with security at FSH (if they are there monitoring the line up prior to opening time). [emoji53]
Couldn't agree more! it's unfair and so obviously not a normal occurrence for "friends" to travel in such large groups - wish there was a way to prevent this type of line-jumping!

Maybe if you want to change to smaller kelly, you can just exchange the bag? Or explain the situation to the SA. So your chance of getting the smaller kelly is bigger than having your husband to buy new one.
Update: I expressed to my husband that I am not sure if K35 is the perfect size for me, so he was very nice to stand in line this morning and try to find me a smaller Kelly. He was about the 25th in line but a lot of ppl jumped in the queue minutes before the store opened so he ended up with an appointment time at 2:30pm.

He was finally served at 2:35pm on the ground floor by SA named Asya. She told him that the inventory was very low but she would still check for him. After 15 seconds (that's what my husband quoted) she came back saying they had no stock. And when my husband tried to see if he could get an appointment with her tomorrow, she said the appointment is available within the same day only (which we know that is not true).

My husband came back pissed and sweared he would stand in line earlier tomorrow LOL. He just needs to make sure he wouldn't see Asya again as he believes she is not sincere.

He was in line with a Taiwanese couple who failed all their attempts since last Saturday. He said after his first attempt, he found me super lucky to be offered a Kelly with no purchase history, especially on a Saturday.

I thought about that too but I am worried that it might cause a lot of trouble for the SA, and I might not be able to get VAT refund on other items that were purchased that day.

First, congrats on your kelly.

But this is at least the 2nd time i read people jump in line "with their friends" which is total bs to me. If anyone else sees this, please try to say something or else it will continue. They are probable resellers anyway since how likely is it that 15 men travel to paris together to shop at hermes?

I wish say something would work but it looks like nobody cares here. Just like one time when a metro train suddenly stopped at one station and asked passengers to leave, people would just leave without complaining.

I guess that's just the French way... we tried to complain on different stuff on different situations... nobody here would care. They wouldn't even say sorry, they would just say "no" or "I don't know".

Think exchanging is not a good idea. It's being scorned upon. I rem a fellow forumer making several attempts to exchange during June this year. I Remembered as I saw her at FSH everyday when I was there and queuing with a big paper bag. Not sure if she succeeded in the end.

@princesscathryn I'm going to Paris in early December and I'm going to try my luck for a B or K35. How did you manage to bring back the box to the US? The box seems big and I'm concerned it won't fit in my regular carry on. Also may I ask how tall are you? I've never tried on a Kelly before and since I'm petite (5'0) it might look too big on me. Yours looks great on you btw!

it's the French charm:)

I'm in Paris now and find the entire Hermes shopping experience to be very stressful. I live in the USA and am able to get bags fairly easily within the allotted quota. In Paris it all feels so stressful. The standard answer is - we don't have any bags today. How can this be? You're a handbag shop. I'm curious to know who and how they decide is worthy of being offered a bag? Any ideas?
Have you been to the store at 17 rue de Sevres? Try that if you haven't. It's less touristy and the SA's are used to locals. I find them quite helpful there.

I am curious what's considered jump in line here. Is it still considered jump in line if they only ask for ONE appt? My husband went with me to line up, then he needed to go to the washroom and also wanted to get some coffee. I am not that lucky that although my husband is willing to pay for anything that I like, he doesn't like waiting that long in line. He would get really grumpy if I didn't let him go pee. So he went away for about 20 minutes to do his stuffs and came back to join me when the store was about to open. Note that we only asked for 1 appt, not 2 separate ones. Does it still considered jump in line? Also, my sister is going to Paris with her husband in Jan. She will be 3 months pregnant by then. She is very skinny, so her belly doesn't show at all. If her husband waits in line and she joins him later, would that be inappropriate?

Hi ladies, I am
Not sure if this has been asked but do you know if purchase history in FSH is linked to US system? I have purchased a lot in Paris but I don't want to look like I haven't bought a thing in US. Sigh

Hi labellavita,

US and Europe are on different system so no need to worry about quota if bought a bag in the US.

Good luck![emoji106]

Is this still true? There was talk a few months back about Hermes Paris being able to see worldwide purchases now but the US stores still not being able to see purchases in Europe.

Loverofchanel, box will not fit in a carry-on. You'll need to check a luggage with a box in it and carry your new bag onboard. I use longchamp tote to put my B or K and carry it during travel.

Early Dec. is a great time to go to Paris. Have a wonderful time.
