^Misty, when you have time would you share a pic of your boxes? I know Mara is a leopard what is Gaston? Duh... When you mentioned boxes I though you were speaking of charm boxes. 
JS has some very ornate goodies! I love ornate stuff. I'm going to add some more of his charms and necklaces to my collection for sure! I plan to move slowly.

Baahaahaa, ok, you were talking about the JS charm boxes. I ready posted a pic of the box my Zebra came in. I'd have to search for my Mara box... Let me do a quick search. Be back in a minute.

I thought by attempting to look for the JS box for Mara would be relatively simple... I should have known better. Said box may be in my garage in a bin full of 100's of boxes. Should I run across the box I will happily post a pic of it but at this juncture it looks like finding it is going to take more time than I can attribute to the task. I'm "mothering" a now 11 week old puppy. There just isn't enough time in a day anyore...:doggie: On the other hand, you know how life works... As soon as I post this I may literally put my hands on the box. 
You really should slow down! Does the puppy ever sleep??? Anyway, the JS boxes for the JS "Boxes" or Trinket Boxes are the gorgeous gold/brown but no clasp. Those, I believe, were reserved for Charms.

Must search for the pic of your Zebra box....Forgot...Gaston is the cute mouse on the wedge of cheese. Adorable, but the "gold" plating has worn horribly and he's rarely been touched. Just sits in my vitrine.
This isn't exactly jewelry, but I consider it Jewelry for the Home. This is Mara as she was in 2004 (have put up base of trinket box also to show the *wear* on the hinge, which has been touched/opened maybe 3 times in 14 years.)
Then there's my little Gaston the Mouse, who is precious but again, his plating has worn terribly with no exposure or touch.

After trudging through my garage... Here is the charm box that Mara came in a few years back. It is starkly different from the box my new Zebra charm came in which I've previously posted pics of.
The older box was sturdy and pretty.
Inside was a nice hot pink leatherette material! It's really pretty.
Meanwhile, the Zebra charm came in a basic cardboard box. Again, I know some people really like the boxes. I really concentrate on the charm but I have to admit that a nice box does make the adrenaline pump a tad!

I sure hoped this thread would catch fire... Perhaps the droves of people who are JS charm collectors are not active on TPF...
Just wanted to share my Bruce Zebra charm here since it literally just arrived! My iPhone photos cannot capture the true beauty of this charm. The crystals are so brilliant! The bling factor is super high! I will definitely add the other animals!
I ordered my charm from Neiman Marcus. At least on this charm, it seems JS has changed from their elaborate collectible boxes. I was disappointed to see this basic cardboard box though I'm not a "box" person anyway.
Interesting... The box slip noted the charms are hand made in China. I wonder why someone took the time to black out the $95 price?

GLL...That's the exact style box my Trinket Boxes came in. I'd call and see if maybe they mixed up the boxes as that's a Trinket Box box (not redundant
), not a Charm Box.
Those boxes are spectacular! Love, love, love Mara!!!!!! She would look so beautiful atop my vanity! The Mouse trinket box is so whimsical! I love whimsey! Thank you for taking the time to share those beautiful pics Misty!!!!
I can't answer the question of how the charms hold up since I haven't worn Mara but a few times. I normally wear my charms around my neck so there's less worry about wear and tear for me.
Here's a shot of my vanity. (I'd make a space for the Mara trinket box):
The pic of it in my personal boudoir is dark so here's a stock pic. I choose not to get the lil bench. I'm still searching for the perfect vanity seat but the leopard shoe chair has sentimental value.

Had to use some serious lighting, but here's what I have of Mara and Gaston's boxes. Note that the Trinket Boxes are not all that much larger than the Charms! It's just the price that jumped a couple hundred or so.
But GLL...you definitely did not get a Charm Box for the Zebra...you have a Trinket Box box.
