Jay Strongwater Charms! Let's Share Talk & Pics!

I have literally stalked the JS Ian Tiger charm so much that I just went ahead and ordered it from NM even though its expected ship date is before May 30th. At least I can sleep now knowing it's paid for and on it's way to me once NM receives it! It'll be charm number 3 for me!

Of course the new puppy is the best of all.

So do these charms ever go on sale anyplace? I've tried a couple of codes, but they always seem to be excluded.

KR, I have NEVER seen these charms go on sale and I've been watching for years. Like I mentioned earlier, when NM/Horchow has a sale, mysteriously the charms disappear or it you find a way to add them to your basket (because you've saved them on your wish list) once you apply the sale code you will get a message indicating the sales does not apply to them. From what I've seen with my own eyes they seem to be like Louis Vuitton-no sales.

That's what I've found, I tried a code from Horchow, and when I tried to apply it during checkout, it wouldn't take it. I was disappointed as I had picked out several things to buy. Oh well, I may just go ahead and buy from the JS site.

^As I don't see Bartholomew the Lion on any other site than JS I may have to get him there but for the other charms on my list I'm going through NM when it's available. If you use *bates you get a lil discount plus NM has free shipping! JS charges almost $10 to ship. That's a bit ridiculous. I'll be shopping for JS charms at NM first and JS second..

Thanks!! My mom bought the Buddha charm, but, it snapped off her purse. I am a big fan of peacock colors/iridescence/etc - not the actual birds, per say. Since my mom got the other charm, I figured the peacock would go nicely with my bag, which can be either teal or greenish, depending on the light

My other Bals sporting JC charms are a little jealous now. The Strongwater charm quality is incredible!

Thanks GLL. Good point re: the shipping. I noticed the high shipping charges, but then forgot about it. Plus the ****** will help some.

Just wanted to mention that although NM doesn't have the Ian Tiger charm in stock and it's not expected to ship until 5/30/14, they've already charged my card. I'm not a fan of being charged for an item prior to it shipping.

I just used the 50$ off promo NM was running a few weeks back and they let it apply to my charm. I have also seen them go on sale at Sak's though it's few and far between. I scored my Penguins on clearance last Christmas for maybe 45$. I would always try the code if you have one, it may not work but it's always worth a try.

I am so happy to see so many of our fellow JC collectors here Maybe it won't be so bad as one charm collecting might be coming to an end but I'm glad we can continue on together collecting and chatting. I love you ladies and while bags are my big love you ladies have been my favorites for years.

Real life certainly trumps cyber life... Please know you are missed. You are also tops in my book.

I think for those of us JC collectors who are also enamored with these charms, we can have a good time gathering and collecting here to for the love of charms! When time permits come back to chat and share ok?

Oh yes. I don't think I paid more than $25 for any of my charms.

Living in NY has it's negatives but access to great deals is not one of them.

By any chance are you referring to the Warehouse Sales in New York? Have always wanted to go but one needs a ticket for admission. Plus, nothing comes in their original boxes...and I love JS boxes!

^News Flash: I don't know if JS changed all their boxes or not but my just received Bruce Zebra charm, from NM, did not come in the beautiful box my Mara Leopard charm came in years ago...

The only Jay Strongwater items I have are two of his "Boxes." "Mara" and "Gaston." Love them to pieces. The charms came along slowly. I think he was hesitant about going down that road because his items are the most copied on the market. By copied, I mean "fake." Truly. I only bought what I have at Neiman Marcus and his shop in Las Vegas at Caesar's Forum Shops. (Very tiny shop...don't know if it's still open.)

Plus, I think his Charms are directed towards a more mature group, although they seem to be a bit more whimsical than originally.

Basically, I love anything Jay Strongwater, but at $95 per Charm, that's a bit steep. If I saw a sale (and I'll keep watching this thread for sales) I'd definitely go for one. Until then, I'll be happy with my little Boxes...each of which cost between $275 and $400. Did I mention "Little?" But well worth it, for sure.

Again, will hold off for a sale. Have never seen JS on sale...would be curious to see. Definitely PM me if anyone see's his Charms on sale!
