Milan is the one store in Italy that should be avoided, loads of in-house corruption and unpleasantness towards spending costumers. It's a pity that it has turned into what it is nowadays, in the past I can guarantee that shopping there was a true delight. I have several good friends of mine who are regulars and big spenders in Milan and they all complain about the service they have been getting for the last couple of years, it seems as if with the bigger store the atmosphere there has gone downhill. This afternoon I visited the store in Milan, trying to understand how to place a wishlist for B, since I’m resident in Italy… the SA was very unpleasant, showed a few basic colors available, hasn’t even asked my leather preference 🙈 at this point I’m not even sure if she registered my wish 🤣 anyway one thing I learned was that Italian stores don’t see my Paris purchases, so they don’t know whether I have a quota bag already or not 😄 I’d rather try my luck again with Paris lottery than have to deal with Italian wishlist system if they treat customers like that 🙈
Oh for real? This is really such a pity even for regular clients to be treated so badly 🙈 thanks for the intel!Milan is the one store in Italy that should be avoided, loads of in-house corruption and unpleasantness towards spending costumers. I think the Rome store has gone a lot down hill aswell, since they moved to the bigger store.Milan is the one store in Italy that should be avoided, loads of in-house corruption and unpleasantness towards spending costumers. I used to shop in Rome, because I was working and had an SA who I had shopped with for years and the service I got was overall impeccable, however, after she left for maternity leave I stopped shopping there. I relocated back to Germany, so my shopping is done here now, but from time to time when I visit Italy once/twice a year I stop by.I think the Rome store has gone a lot down hill aswell, since they moved to the bigger store.
Has anyone visited the Rome boutique recently? Not looking for quota bags, just a Picotin or mini lindy (which I know are not easy to come by as well). From what I’ve read some prespending is expected which is fine.
Is it worth spending at the Rome boutique vs trying at the duty free shop?
I’m also probably heading to Paris in a couple months so debating if I should save my spending there…
Visited the Rome store last month, and not only was I unable to get any sort of bag (even though I already have some prespend there), they made a huge mistake that caused me a major inconvenience.
I had bought a pair of Santorini sandals during my visit, and I didn’t think to check the box when I returned to my hotel, because we should trust that the SA had done her job correctly, right? It wasn’t until a few days later when I was in a taxi leaving Rome for a week-long cruise that I decided to open the box and check on my shoes. Lo and behold, they were 2 different sizes!!! I freaked out and asked the taxi driver to stop and turn around, but unfortunately he was unable to take me to the boutique, so my DH & I just got out and walked all the way to the store in the intense heat with our luggage in tow. Luckily there was no queue once we reached the store, and they were able to resolve the issue right away, but this whole situation had left a really bad taste. What if I had boarded the cruise without checking the box until I got to my final destination 4 countries later?! Not to mention the wasted time, cab cancellation fee, and unnecessary stress it had caused me!
After this incident and we were back on our way to the cruise port, my DH turned to me and said, ”I think we are done with the Rome store.” I should also note that the SA I had shopped with on my previous visit said that she can no longer help me because they are now confined to their own departments. So my answer to you is, no it is definitely not worth spending at the Rome boutique. It is actually more trouble than it’s worth. Save your spending for Paris instead.
(My story does have a happy ending though… visited Monaco during the cruise and was able to get a Picotin with no prespend!)

Wow, ok so far looks like the experiences have not been so great. I guess I’ll visit and see how I feel but have zero expectations.Congratulations for your picotin.
Unfortunately i cant forget how sa in rome helped me to find specific color of Oran. and she made appointment for next day for matchy color bag. At that point i did not mentioned what i want as a bag. she was italian and she was so helpful.
next day when i arrived the store at opening, new sa immediately said that we dont have bag, i was first one to step store!!!!
Thank you for sharing! Very helpful to hear about multiple experiences. Seems like Rome H is kind of a dud. lol. If I visit I’ll be sure to try and go in the morning, not keen to queue in the heat either.I was in Rome the other day, passed by Hermes, they have 2 boutiques one in front the other, one is just accessories, the other one has everything else. There wasn't any queue outside, so I entered one of the two, but it happened to be the one with accessories (silk, belts, some FJ) only. I asked to see the Kelly belt, didn't like it, and wanted to go to the main store, but since I had a quick meeting with a friend, I didn't had time to go to the store immediately, so I thought I would go there on my way back the same afternoon. Well, an hour or so later, there was a queue outside (5-6 people at least), I didn't bother to wait in a queue, since it was really hot... and I'll be back in Rome anyway in a couple of weeks... But I didn't even like the experience at the small accessories shop, the SA was very unfriendly, so not sure if I even want to spend any time and money at H in Rome 🤷♀️ Aside the SA at the Malpensa airport in Milan, I haven't find my experience at H in Milan and Rome worthwhile so far.... the SAs at the boutiques in Italy are very unexcited and unfriendly in general...despite me being a local, not a tourist 🤷♀️
