For the original (smooth) Barenia please post here:

I’m ashamed to admit, but I beat the hell out of my other bags but I tend to baby this one [emoji33]! I use her frequently, but I try and avoid scrapes and congested areas. I think it’s because she’s my holy grail bag, and the idea of any sort of damage makes me nauseated. I know she will handle it better than any of my other leathers...but...this is my baaaabbbyyy! (I’m such a goober)

Hahahaha.:lol::lol: You make me giggle. :giggle::giggle::giggle::hbeat:

I have to admit, I was a little freaked out by BF. I have Togo and Evercolor bags and I like my stuff neat, tidy, and looking new. But, something about the BF is liberating. I originally wanted gold Togo, but when my SA presented me with this beauty I couldn’t say no. It sat on my shelf for a few weeks as I debated whether I could handle the “changes.” My DH finally convinced me to bite the bullet and just let go, and use her unrestrained. I did. Now, it is hands down my favorite bag. I have taken on the patina process as a personal challenge. I love the intoxicating smell. The blind stamp is extraordinary. And I LOVE grained leather. Also, for a 35, mine has fabulous structure and color depth Togo just doesn’t deliver. I am in love. Congratulations on your bag and welcome to the BF journey!

Thanks! I agree! Maybe you hit on the nail, it is liberating! Originally when I requested Barenia I was definitely only thinking smooth Barenia. It didn't even dawn on me the Faubourg would be offered and come up so quickly. Also at the time there wasn't a ton of talk about Faubourg so it wasn't on my radar so much. Timing was crazy because after I put it down on my wishlist it came quick and very unexpected. So I really had to think hard and figure out if that's what I really wanted. Am glad I did. In some ways, this bag has been more satisfying than so many others I have purchased. I have bought and sold a few bags over the years but this one is a keeper.

My BF has had some small scratches which I think came out when I rubbed it. but I haven't had enough time to pay attention. Will try to be more observant and report back.

IT HAPPENED. My first *stain* [emoji24] I knew it was coming. Not overly stressed about it, BUT if anyone has ideas on how to remove it (if its even possible) I would REALLY appreciate it. Not going to go putting anything on my BF without asking first [emoji848] It’s the tiny little drip spot towards the bottom. IMG_0665.jpg

Eep! I don’t even know...I suspect the smooth Barenia stain removal tips and tricks would work. It is Barenia after all. How many heart attacks did you have?! What ha happened?!

Surprisingly, only 1.5 heart attacks.... I saw it, panicked and tried to think what possibly it could be. Remembered I shouldn’t touch it and resisted the desire to dab it with water. Panicked a little more. Can’t figure out what on earth it could be. I literally go from my house to car to work. And about 10 ft of that is outside. [emoji848] Reached out to my ah-maz-zing SA who told me to 1. Chill, 2. Don’t touch it, 3. No water, 4. Welcome to the patina process, relax and just let it happen. It is really hard to see and I’m the only one that notices so I have relaxed. Going to read through the Barenia tips again, but worst case at least it’s not terrible?

If it’s not ink, it will get absorbed and disappear on its own. Just leave it alone and wait. But, water isn’t a problem either.

Please do relax! I have the smooth barenia and a week after receiving her, dropped a huge dollop of curry on to create a big grease stain. A year later, after an immediate spa visit, the patina in full swing and no one would know. She is richer and more beautiful by the minute and yours will be too!

[emoji33]you must have been terrified! Thank you very much for the kind words and for sharing your experience. I am glad it turned out well for you.
I’m glad mine is minor and I am confident it will blend into the character of the bag as mine looks no different than the day I brought her home. Time to get that patina going and just motivation to take her out more. Maybe a spa visit in a year will be good too [emoji847]

Breathe... relax... leave it be. Don’t try to rub it with a cloth. Continue using her as if this didn’t happen. I know it’s tough to ignore it but do your best. Wait a couple of weeks and then post another photo for us.

Breathing phewwww, thank you all so much for sharing. I haven’t touched it and wouldn’t think of it. Would HATE to make it worst. I will certainly chronicle the *mystery drip* journey [emoji847]
