I know it can be confusing with different leathers called similar names, but this thread is for Barenia Faubourg only.

For the original (smooth) Barenia please post here:

The Couvertures Novelles twilly also comes in a yellow colorway that is really pretty. It has a yellow background with etoupe and a bit of green. (It’s one of the twillys I first posted earlier). I decided to play it “risky” and opted for the orange colorway which is cw02 Orange/Jaune/Capucine.

I think orange goes beautifully with BF. I’m hoping purple does too....

Oh, most definitely [emoji106]

By the way, what’s the proper terminology to use when differentiating between the “old” Barenia bags and this “new” Barenia? I don’t really care for the old/new distinction... maybe smooth versus pebbled? Ha ha. Or is it really “Barenia” versus “Barenia Faubourg” which feels like quite a mouthful. Thoughts?

I say smooth or grained Barenia is an appropriate (and much less of a mouthful) way to differentiate. What do you and everyone else think of that? Old and new, nah. They’re gorgeous sisters, and no one tells a pretty lady she’s old and gets away with it!

Loving everyone's posts and pictures. Thank you for sharing. Haven't used mine lately but I try to smell it as often as possible! Wish mine had a strong smell like cavalry's and lala28's. It is heavenly. I think in my early days of buying H I would not have been ready for a Barenia or BF but now I am so excited over this bag. Something about it that now I don't mind having it age. I think with my other bags, Togo, epsom, clemence, swift etc, I don't want those to age so much but I'm okay with a Barenia bag and look forward to see how it evolves. And I love the neutral color and blind stamp!

I have to admit, I was a little freaked out by BF. I have Togo and Evercolor bags and I like my stuff neat, tidy, and looking new. But, something about the BF is liberating. I originally wanted gold Togo, but when my SA presented me with this beauty I couldn’t say no. It sat on my shelf for a few weeks as I debated whether I could handle the “changes.” My DH finally convinced me to bite the bullet and just let go, and use her unrestrained. I did. Now, it is hands down my favorite bag. I have taken on the patina process as a personal challenge. I love the intoxicating smell. The blind stamp is extraordinary. And I LOVE grained leather. Also, for a 35, mine has fabulous structure and color depth Togo just doesn’t deliver. I am in love. Congratulations on your bag and welcome to the BF journey!

I’m ashamed to admit, but I beat the hell out of my other bags but I tend to baby this one [emoji33]! I use her frequently, but I try and avoid scrapes and congested areas. I think it’s because she’s my holy grail bag, and the idea of any sort of damage makes me nauseated. I know she will handle it better than any of my other leathers...but...this is my baaaabbbyyy! (I’m such a goober)

Ya... I haven’t entered the damage zone either hehe. My daily use consists of a car ride to the office and back [emoji847] but I do like the idea that getting fresh air and a little walk will assist the patina process, albeit slowly.
