Do you find yourself liking the old designs of Louis Vuitton bags?

I bought a Noe, the large original size, during covid. I love it. I also have a the NM Noe in epi and like that one, but the original Noe makes my smile huge when I wear it. I can't love the Neo Noe. Now that I think of it, I have GM Neverfulls for travel, an old speedy 30 in DA, a Multicolore Noir Speedy and the Watercolor speedy 35. With the exceptions of 2 pochette Metis bags, all of my bags are older designs.

I liked it when the designs were clean cut and classic. But then there's the mono print which a portion of people would think its tacky with the LV everywhere. The DE is slightly less in your face but DE is 1 of the next more recognisable patterns of LV.
My first LV was the Speedy 30B because of the straps, I love the bag so much. In last few months I got the Noe GM in Epi and Petite Noe in mono because they are pretty classic bags which fit my lifestyle. I can't do tiny bags so the bb and nano would'nt work for me.

I definitely prefer classic styles over the current offerings. I love my monogram Noe BB and Speedy B25 in DE most (before they changed the ebene leather). I feel like they were made better and will last longer over the years than many of the recent styles (Pochette Metis glazing issues, NeoNoe issues with the unfinished top coming apart, etc).

I realize this is an old thread but wanted to revive it because I’ve been wondering the same thing. Thinking of a vintage crossbody style in monogram…most of the current new offerings are ridiculously pricey or impossible to find.

I’ve looked at the Trotteur and the Saint Cloud. What others do you like?

The Chantilly is pretty too. Comes in more than one size. There is a pre-loved store near me and it has a Chantilly PM in its window that is tempting, but I have decided to not purchase anything new (or new to me). I'm working from home for the next few months at least and have plenty of bags that aren't getting used much as it is.

Anyway, this is the Chantilly PM...I'd be curious to see what TPF LV experts think a good price for it would be.

Yes, this Chantilly is nice - as long as you don’t need to always use the buckle to open/close. The Senlis also looks very practical as a timeless messenger (pic from Tradesy). I think the key will be trying to find one where the vachetta is still in decent shape….many I see the vachetta is horribly dry, cracked or dirty.

Most definitely. Not just because of the craftsmanship but because I like the styles much better, generally. I’m not loving a lot of the newer pieces. I still lust after the Trio Pochette in Eclipse, which I had and returned, and as it has now gone through two price increases have not repurchased. I’m kicking myself slightly about that, but otherwise I find myself generally gravitating much more towards vintage/older pieces.
