I certainly concur!!! Your comment is the best ever to summarize my exact feeling with regards to some of the newer LV styles!Too many of the new LV are like a "flash in the pan", they grab your attention and seem cute but they fade in style and popularity too fast. That's not what LV was, that's not what drew me to them, it was special to see some new styles but that wasn't the priority. It felt special to invest in their bags because they would stand the test of time, now it feels too pushed for the next better thing coming out and I think it's cheapening them (even though the prices certainly aren't).

Absolutely concur! I've always been drawn to the classic styles, ones that survive the test of time and that's what I'll always look to purchase. I actually just got an Ellipse pm that's 20 years old, which I don't even really consider a particularly classic style, but it was one of the sorta fun new releases to me back when that would happen here and there. I was supposed to get in on honeymoon 23 years ago but they were out of stock and I have still thought about it all that time through a number of discontinue, re-releases it endured. Now that they did a re-fresh and re-release again I was like, the new one doesn't feel quite the same and it's $2500! So I found a 2003 for $450 and it's filling this gap perfectly, it needed a tiny bit of TLC but it's in pretty darn good shape and I don't think I would be as in love with the new version.I certainly concur!!! Me too! I found a vintage Ellipse from Fashionphile for around $600, and my husband surprised me with it. It's in great shape, and I've been eyeing up that style for years. The re-releases of it are absurd....put a zippered front pocket on it, or give it white leather and charge us over 2k? No, thank you.I actually just got an Ellipse pm that's 20 years old, which I don't even really consider a particularly classic style, but it was one of the sorta fun new releases to me back when that would happen here and there. They made it smaller too! Idk, I think a lot of the little add ons are cheapening and dating the bags. I like the little attached pouched, and guitar straps, etc., but they don't feel like that great of quality IMHO, seem like a reason to up the price dramatically, and probably something that won't stand the test of time that we will find ourselves eventually removing or repurposing because it's too trendy used all together.. Even the built in luggage tags on some, back when they used to let us buy luggage tags for next to nothing (like $40) I would buy and have personalized and hang them on various bags.. now they are selling bags with them built in for a premium. I like my way better lol.Me too! I found a vintage Ellipse from Fashionphile for around $600, and my husband surprised me with it. It's in great shape, and I've been eyeing up that style for years. i've always liked the st. cloud, remember looking at one when it was in the boutique years ago. does it have more room than the saumur bb? that was the dealbreaker for me on the saumur, the capacity. your st. cloud looks great!I tend to gravitate to all the bags that were made in the 90s and early 2000s and now they are bringing back some of them as remakes so exciting ! I actually got this St Cloud PM vintage 1992 a couple months ago ! Would you choose this or the new Saumur BB?

I’ve been looking at some vintage lvs lately because I do miss the attention to detail in them. I still love some of the new releases but the vintage bags are worth revisiting I think . Have you had any issue with sticky lining? I have seen some older bags that have deteriorated inside so I try to stick with textile lined bags .Thank you so much! I would say probably holds the same amount lol but just assemble differently in the bag because I got the pm. Although this saumur is so adorable, I have decided to send it back.
