Diamond stud wearers - do you take them out at night?

Mine only come out for cleaning. Everything else comes off, but for some reason I don't feel the need to remove these. However, my jeweler tells me all the time that jewelry is not meant to be slept in.

interesting. i never knew that. good to know because the ONLY thing i sleep in is my LOVE bangle and my diamond necklace. but my wedding rings and earrings always come off—even when i'm showering, etc.

the small diamond studs (.25tcw) in my 2nd holes i leave in. they are screwbacks, so i don't worry about losing them & i just don't feel them when i sleep... and i'm a side sleeper.

Everything else comes off, though sometimes i forget to take off my wedding band.

I only wear stud earrings usually- whether pearls, diamonds, gemstones, etc. and I always sleep in them, unless they are gigantic. I know I should not with the pearls though...

Hi there!

So I got my diamond studs for Christmas :yahoo: and haven't taken them off since! I'm so happy because everything but 24K gold (even my 18K VCA studs) irritates my ears and platinum does not - yay! :yahoo::yahoo:

So I'm tempted to never take them out and am starting to get used to sleeping in them - but was wondering if this is normal? I'm a bit afraid they could catch (although not really likely on a pillow I guess) and rip out of my ears and every now and then I lie on them wrong and it bugs me - but I seem to be getting used to it. With the screwbacks it seems like a lot of work to unscrew every night and I'm a bit afraid I'd eventually wear out the threads? What do you think?

I can sleep in my smaller studs (0.7ct each) no problem at all. But my larger one has a long post and it pokes into me. If you sleep in them every night, I would bring them to a jeweller to check the setting and post every few months just to make sure.

i take all my jewelry off once i'm home so i never sleep with my diamond studs on. but that's just me. i did sleep in them once and i found it very uncomfortable. do what you want.
