Balenciaga :( Bought a lovely part time in Gris Poivre, but hate the fact the shoulder strap is so short. I need a long strap! Trying to sell it now and have decided Bals are not for me.

No heavy bags.
Crossbody only if its light and small. Otherwise it really hurts.
No bags that are hard to open, for instance, with buckles.
No drawstring bags.
No neon or glittery stones.
No longchamp pilage as I cant stand the smell.
No PU leather that is smelly.
No fabric bags.

Chanel flaps - I love them but they don't love me:doh:

ME TOO! i am really dissapointed with it. spend a life time saving to buy it, but it just dont work out to me. i dont like how slippy the chain are, and the sticky feeling when i have to get my wallet because the interior is also made from lamb skin. i thought i could live without, but i ended up reaching other bag more often

Celine trapeze is also a no-no for me. they are waay to heavy for me eventho i bought it in small size. and i dont know how to explain this with words, but the feeling when you have to pick something quickly in your bag (imagine being in airport), and the bag is just sloping everywhere and dragging the strap.

1. Big tote bags - LV Neverfull mm, Tory Burch Perry Tote. -- way too heavy, i would rather use my nylon longchamp le pilage bag
2. Gucci Soho Disco --> the leather quality was not up there, smells very chemically to me?
3. Chanel small boy bag - so expensive for this size, it fits slightly less than a mini rectangular which is much cheaper
4. Mulberry Alexa - the opening with the turn lock was too fiddly and the size was a bit big for me.
5. Chanel m/l classic flap black lambskin ghw - lambskin was so delicate to me, and with the gold hardware, this combo was too mature and formal which didn't suit my lifestyle.

- Large handheld bags. Small handheld bags are ok, though, but only if they're very tiny.

- Bags that supposedly are "both" handheld and shoulder bags. They're actually handheld bags; stop advertising them as something they're not! A good example I can think of is the Gerard Darel 24 Heures bag, which I bought at a steal 2 months ago. Contrary to what they advertise, it is not a shoulder bag. The handles are too short and slips off my shoulder when the bag is full or if I'm in a rush. Not to mention the strap drop is not that great. BTW, I'm also petite; I'm a size 2 and just under 5'5", so I'm not very tall. I had a Coach bag that was similar and I sold it; I am debating on selling this one, too, but I might just give it to my mom.

This also goes for bags that have an add-on strap like the Givenchy Antigona. I think the strap makes the bag look awkward because it doesn't look like it was originally designed for it.

- Minaudieres. I would love to own one, but I'm not that posh/fancy. I need something that can hold my keys or at least my cellphone!

- Bucket bags. Argh. I've had several of these and sold all of them. I hate dealing with drawstrings, plus the "piling" of my stuff made it hard to access things at the very bottom.

- Large messenger bags

- Backpacks

- Fabric (non-coated canvas)/patent leather bags. Nylon is the exception.

- Large, all-leather bags. Too heavy.

No large bags as I have whittled down what I carry and in a large bag things move around on their own, or get smashed (like my glasses). I prefer a zipper on the top because I like the safety of it and just the thought that nobody can just stick their hand in my (open) bag to pull out my wallet or whatever. No drawstrings (can't stand them on clothing either) no cloth or soft leather because I want my bag to hold it's shape and not fall over when I put it down. No kiss-locks (reminds me of old-granny coin purses from childhood) or anything difficult to open. I prefer a shoulder bag with two handles or a crossbody with one. Don't care for the handbag straps that only go over your wrist that includes a long crossbody strap - don't need 3.

Large bags. I am a small bag type of girl because all I carry is a phone, six-ring key holder, card holder, key cles (carries extra cards), and lipstick. A medium size to large bag is impractical since I carry so little. I am also petite so they make me look even smaller.

Expensive, trendy bags. I don't want to pay mucho money for a bag that will look dated in a couple years. If I want a trendy style, I will go for a cheaper option.

Don't usually care for super structured bags (a few exceptions here). I prefer puddly-type bags (Balenciaga, hobos, etc).

What bags have you tried and learned don't work for you? (Doesn't mean that they aren't pretty and that they don't work for other people.)

me:

1. le pliage- hard for me to zip and unzip. found out I like more structure than it offers. I think about rebuying it once a year because of the pretty pretty colors.

2. bal city- the things I like to carry don't match the shape of the bag. the shoulder strap was pointless on me and the bag looked like a hot dog on me.

3. any woc, wristlet or phone wallet- I like to carry lots of things. I will never be one of those cool just cards and a lip balm and keys girls
Exactly! This could be MY post- I love the City bags but know that IF they don't stand up on their own it would kill me.

I had a Phillip Lim Mini Pashli that taught be that 1: I can't do bags that are cumbersome to get into and close, and 2: No heavy, structured bags. Sold it, and will probably never get another structured bag again.
That's exactly what's keeping me from them! There's a greenish one that looks beautiful, but also looks heavy and hard to use...

LV Artsy, Delight, Graceful...why are the handles so short? I’ve tried and tried to somehow make them ‘work’ for me - adding long straps, etc. But, it never looks just right! They even make the rings so thick that your only options are attaching the larger Keepall strap or attaching smaller rings on the strap. Is there a solution to this ‘pain in the armpit’ problem other than sticking to a Speedy or something similar??
