bags that DON'T work for you

Did anyone mention a box/rectangle shape (ie Pochette Metis, Soho Disco, camera bags). I wish someone who loved this style could illuminate why they like it... I find it very hard to wear a bag on me that is basically just a giant box. It does not look feminine to me at all. I can't get behind a box/rectangle bag shape at all (after several fails).

I like that boxy structured style if the bag is pretty small (like a mini or medium size, no bigger). Soho Disco size works in this shape IMO. Bigger than that I don't think it works well, especially if wearing off shoulder on a long strap or crossbody style.

I discovered that I never used this Prada bag I had because the short strap length bugged the heck out of me. So I finally bought a gorgeous $10 chain from Amazon and now the bag is the perfect length crossbody!! It's amazing; now I love the bag!!

I have this SAME chain that I use for many bags! It looks great with your prada!

Crossbody bags because I’m a little top heavy and don’t like the look. I also find they give me a pain in the neck & shoulder area after some time.

Shoulder bags because they won’t stay on yet I have quite a few that I bought before I realised. Fortunately they can all be hand carried but the smaller ones with a very thin strap sometimes stay on ok.

Flap bags - I’ve discovered that they are fussy and annoying although they look good.

Intricate closures - that means I may have to let go a couple of Céline bags that I truly love :(

Really slouchy bags - I hate digging and delving for an item for ages

And finally my latest discovery - bags where the sides go in. I buy say an 8” bag which should fit essentials then realise that the sides fold in and in effect I end up with a 5” wide bag.

My options are severely limited now

OMG yes on the sides that scoop in and the leather is kind of stiff and you end up with way less usable space than you should! I have "smaller" bags that fit more than my larger ones because of that. It's stupid.

cross body bags. I don't like them on me partly because I have larger breasts.
Also I pretty much require some outside pockets. I do have one bag that works for me without them. It's a tote with three compartments; so I can put some things in the open part and find them pretty easily.

Strictly hand-held is also a no for me. Has to at least have the option of a shoulder strap.

- Cross body bags, love the style of them but my boobs are too big and my torso is too small to carry them off
- Long shoulder strap bags: they just don't look right on me and they always end up falling off my shoulder

Kate Spade novelty bags. Pretty and fun to look at, but for the price of almost $400, it’s impractical and overpriced. You can get a much better bag for that same price! Just my opinion, though.

Same with Danielle Nicole’s novelty bags. Still pricey for her poor quality and not very practical. Shame because her Disney bags are cute but not worth $100+.

I knooow!!! This factor makes me crazy. I have a mini Faye which does this- WHY have the feature if you cannot close it that way???!!! Really aggravating if you ask me--- it annoys me every time I look at it now! Other than that it's a beautiful bag. Aaargh!
