$6000 a month!!! that is crazy. put that money in the bank and you could buy one in a few months! why give it to someone else???

^yeah i saw that, i was like WTF!

i went to that site because there was a bag i was thinking of getting (Louis Vuitton Summit Drive in Perle) and i was wondering if it would be a good idea to try it out first instead of buying it. Well, I saw that it was $195 a month to rent it (and this is if you are a member, which costs $20 for 3 months)!! I was like wow..I could probably buy the bag used on ebay, and if i didn't like it, just sell it a month later (and with ebay fees etc lose only abt $100). On top of that, you have to pay for shipping, and most bags I saw on there you have to get on a waiting list. So, a no-go for me.

The only way i'd ever consider renting a bag is if there was a guaranteed possibility that one could purchase the bag at the end if we wanted to buy it, AND that whatever $$ was already put into the bag rental would have gone towards the purchase of the bag (sort of like leasing a car). For example if a bag retailed for $1000, and you rented it for a month for $200, then only if they would sell it to you for $800 (provided the bag was brand-new when you rec'd it..less if it was already used). However, i don't think that's how it works, based on what ppl have commented (here and on other sites). When you get the bag it's likely already been used, and you don't always have the option of buying it in the end (because if the bag is very popular they know they will make more money from renting it). Also, it sounds like if they do decide to let you buy it, they agree to sell it for full retail value.

anyway, i suppose its ok for some of the cheaper brands that often go on sale and are only a few bucks to rent, for but for higher-end brands like LV, Chanel, Hermes it does not seem worth it at all!

I like the idea, especially for evening events that requires formal clothing. Although I would be very please to own expensive clutches--I will not purchase any, so the rent option is perfect for this type of occasions.

I'm thinking about using this for my fiance's office Christmas party this year for a clutch. I have some nice clutches but I had the women last year remember when I wore my clutch a few monthes before to another event! Sort now I'm tempted to show up with a fancy clutch. Ugh. I think its a good test drive concept for bags. Maybe if I was in NYC or a more fashionable place I'd be tempted to use it. Lately I've been buying too many things I don't use and end up selling at a loss on Ebay.

I have rented a few of the less expensive bags that are more trendy and therefore, wouldn't last in my closet. I also rented two Pradas to see if I would like to carry them long term. The cost of the rental was worth it to me to make sure before I purchased the bags. Plus, I really like being able to have some variety during the times when I'm saving for bags or there is nothing I like in the stores. Also, I would rent something in a trendy color rather than buy since the color will go out of style...

I purchase from the outlet and the bags are in great condition. I did get one I didn't like once and I returned it and was refunded within a week.

I have contemplated renting bags because I won't even tell you what I have spent this year on bags. I get tired of the trendy designer bags after about three months and sell them on eBay. The problem is unless I have a Chanel or Hermes I typically only get about 1/2 what I paid for the bag on eBay because I have to list it as used even though it is still in pristine condition - this is statistically accurate for most sellers. So, if I tally my losses it's ridiculous. It would actually be cheaper (and wiser) for me to rent every now and then instead of purchasing.

Ugh I can't believe this... I signed up for a three month membership last week so I could try out a Gucci bag I really want to buy. It was on a waitlist so they gave me a 20%off coupon code to try something else right away so I rented an LV bag instead. I just logged on to look at my billing history and they charged me the membership for the entire year and didn't apply the 20% off coupon.

I sent an email so hopefully they respond in the morning. I hope their customer service isn't as bad as soon as some have mentioned.

I had a horrible experience with this site. I bought a Gucci tote they described as "gently carried" and when it arrived it had numerous pen marks on the interior and very worn corners. I consider pen marks damage, not gently carried! Resolving the issue was a hassle and took me numerous emails and phone calls. The bag retailed for $1345 and they sold it for $799 in this condition. I will never buy from them again.

Has anyone sold their bags to them?? If so, can you share your experience?

They offer 80-85% of retail value! That's even for brand new bags! They need to purchase the bags for "Half" of what they are going to sell them for. I can't believe people are actually selling their bags to BBS for that low. For that price, you could sell them yourself and make more money! :p
