I absolutely LOVE Bag Borrow Steal/Avelle. I have purchased many bags from them for bargain prices. I recently got the Cynthia Rowley Survivor tote in putty and love it. It was $135 and originally retailed for $700. It has some color fading on one of the pockets on the front and was missing the long shoulder strap, but otherwise was really nice. Inside was perfect. I also have a gorgeous Maxx NY croc tote that was only $45. It's gorgeous and Birkin inspired. If you are careful and keep an eye out there are bargains to be found at Avelle.com

BBS/Avelle cons: They clean their bags with a smelly chemical, so if you are sensitive to that beware. When you rent OR buy that same chemical smell is there. It does fade though of course.

Also this is not for long term renting of premier designer bags: LV, Gucci, Prada, Dior, Chanel bags are pricey to rent. This is rental for special occasion or a special treat. Long term renting is a huge rip-off. You are better off saving for a nice bag.

BBS/Avelle pros: You can get rental credit towards purchase. This is OK for designer bags, but NOT premier designer bags which BBS won't usually allow you to "steal" anyway. If you rent for a few months, you will get a discount on the bag if you want to "steal" for most designer bags (Coach, Juicy, Tory, Furla, etc)

BBS is for those who are bag addicts and get bored with bags easily. That's me. I used to buy a bag, then sell it on E-bay six months later to get a new one. This way I have a new bag monthly. So fun! :o)

I would rather have my own, plus just think how horribly some people treat their bags! Used or secondhand is a great thing in my opinion, but I just couldn't love my bag properly if it wasn't mine. It would just be another accessory, just some leather or canvas to throw my things in.

I've just recently purged my closets and sold some items both to Yoogi's closet (they are phenomenal) and to BBorS. My experience with BBorS is somewhat disappointing, especially when comparing to Yoogi's. Both my packages were recieved on the same day (one to Yoogi's the other to BBorS). I have already recieved my money from Yoogi's. BBorS has yet to even "check my bags in" to their system. It's been 4 days and I am just frustrated. I have gone on live chat AND called and all of their answers to when I would recieve my cash has been, "it takes 1 to 2 days to check-in your bag." HELLO! It's been four! If it takes them four days to simply check in my bag, I am assuming it will take even longer for them to cut me a check. I've read all the negative comments regarding this company and knew I could potentially be setting myself up for unwanted/uneeded stress. But I needed to get rid of these last couple of Coach bags and I know that BBorS jumps on them. This will be the last time I ever use them though. On the other hand, Yoogi's has impeccable service, quick turn-around process, and has been a pleasure to work with.

Hi Chloe, and welcome to the forum....yes you did respond right:D, I got on live chat with them tonight to ask if they could email me pictures and the lady assured me the bag was in excellent condition and told me they bought the bag from Michael kors not from a customer and sad the bag has minimal wear.... I really want the bag but I'm nervous because of their no refund policy

Did u end up buying the bag ?

I recently sold my LV Sp Ed. Comete bag to them (which is now up for sale on the site), and got a decent price. I then purchased an LV from them, and it was in great shape (looked new) and indeed authentic. I had no problems with the customer service. Every time I called, I got an answer. I sent my bag in, and within four days, got a quote from them.
I think they have made many changes in the last month or so, getting better. I am looking forward to buying from them again when they have their next 20% off sale. :graucho:

I've sold a few Coach bags to them. Of course the price is never what you think it should be but I don't want to deal with selling them myself so I take quite a loss. I think I've only had them decline one of my bags and I guess it's because the bag wasn't worth enough to even mess with.
(I did notice that they gave me a quote on a bag, I declined, resubmitted later and was quoted $30 more than the first time.)

Paying money for something that's not yours to keep is not something that I like to do. I don't lease cars, I buy a car. I don't rent furniture or TV's either. It's not cost effective. Just my opinion.

I have always found their offers to be on the lower end. They no longer accept Coach---they had a big clearance sale this summer with Coach and a few other lines that they were no longer going to be dealing in.

The only time I would ever use them as a rental is to try out a very expensive (for me) bag before I bought it. It would not be very cost effective to purchase a $2700 bag and find out that you don't really like it after you have carried it around a bit.

that is exactly how i feel about about leasing ANYTHING,too!!! will not do it.:nogood: the money these women are paying to use a bag for a short time could be saved to BUY the real thing! IMO it is a waste!
