i would so much rather buy my own bag. with the money that you spend on renting a bag for a couple of months or even weeks, you could just buy one of your own.

I was reading a newspaper story in which BBS claimed they didn't pay for that plug in the movie. But honestly, I have my doubts about that. You don't have characters in a movie suddenly spouting off about the glories of an online retailer without cash changing hands.

Apparently the company was started by the former CEO of Land's End, which I think is rather incredible. Why would he want to start a company such as this when he knows so much about normal retailing? Does he really believe women would prefer to rent purses rather than buy them? But apparently he plans to expand into renting other things like shoes, dresses, hats, etc. And selling clothing and accessories as well.

IMO the bags on bagborroworsteal are not worth renting... they're not some super exclusive purses covered in diamonds or anything, those are the bags you would wear everyday or could buy using the money you save up instead of renting the bags... i'd rather spend money on something i could own, rather than just having it for a while... well, unless there's some very special occasion where you want to look TDF with the it bag at the moment (if bbs has it) and you can't get it anywhere else, then it might be worth it...

I have never rented a bag from BBS, but did go to their web site out of curiousity last year.

I don't think I personally would rent a bag (I'm bad, I just buy them:nuts:), but it is a great idea if you are extremely fickle and like to change bags often, or if you want to "test drive" a bag you want to buy and just want to be sure it suits your needs before making the investment. :yes:

Has anyone have any experience buying a bag that they've rented on Bag Borrow or Steal? Are the bags offered at decent discount to the full retail price? I am wondering about the prices because there's currently a $3000ish (retail) Chanel bag that I want to buy and would totally "borrow" it for a week if I can buy it for around $2000, but obviously want to buy it if it would end up costing $2500+ to buy the bag. Please let me know your experiences, thanks :)

I bought a "gently carried" bag from them about two weeks ago. I thought the bag was in fabulous, almost unused looking condition and was shipped super fast. I've heard that they have a great return policy as well. If the bag shows up and you don't care for it, no problems in returning. I was very pleased with my transaction with them.

^ i was wondering the same thing. do you mind telling us how the pricing was to buy the gently carried..like compared the bags retail?

i also trying to decide if its worth it to pay for membership in order to buy there bags. i'm not too big on the borrowing for a week thing, but i would like to buy some of their things if the price they offer for the steal it option is good:D
