anyone who registers can buy a bag from the outlet. as for "stealing" bags that you have borrowed, it is totally in their discretion whether to allow it and how much it will be. i'm pretty sure that they won't let you borrow a bag for a week and let you steal it if it is fairly new and popular. have you seen how much it costs to rent bags? outrageous! do the math -- if they can rent a bag for $500/month and have a waitlist, why would they ever sell it except for a huge markup?

^ i was wondering the same thing. do you mind telling us how the pricing was to buy the gently carried..like compared the bags retail?

i also trying to decide if its worth it to pay for membership in order to buy there bags. i'm not too big on the borrowing for a week thing, but i would like to buy some of their things if the price they offer for the steal it option is good:D

It's true. You don't have to pay for a membership in order to purchase bags from their outlet. All you have to do is sign up. They add new items to their outlet every Wednesday and take new discounts every Friday. Their banner states that you can save up to 70% in their outlet store and not all the bags are used, some are new. The bag I purchased had a retail price of $495 and I was able to purchase it from them for $95. I thought it was a great deal and I absolutely love the bag. :yahoo:

I ordered my first "gently carried" bag from them - a Gustto Gina in wine.
Truthfully, I can not tell it's been carried! I have my doubts if it ever has
been.

I paid $265 for it, retail is $678.

I heard horrible things about thier company. They do double charges on CCs, send out dirty bags, and then scream at the customers when they call to complain.

I dont trust them, they essentially steal from you. Its so over priced to borrow a bag, its such a rip off

The prices to rent bags is insane, if I'm going to pay that much a month I'd rather save my money and buy it myself. I could see it being useful if you had a "special occasion" where you might just want the bag for a week but still... I've glanced at there outlet center but nothing really stands out to me. I have a few friends who have bought bags and had no problems.

And yes it was in the Sex in the City Movie :) thats how I originally came to look up the site hehe

I also bought a bag from their outlet a couple of weeks ago. The bag was over 65% off retail, I paid $185. It arrived super-fast and was packed beautifully. Unfortunately, I wasn't crazy about the condition. I have to say, though, that I don't think the problem was due to wear. I think this bag was just made this way.

I called to ask about returning and they couldn't have been nicer or more cooperative. This bag has gone back, but I would not hestitate to use them again. They have wonderful prices in the outlet!

i've found their outlet prices are fair and their service was good. i also bought a bag from their outlet. when the kooba annie arrived there were obvious signs of wear and a stain. they also didn't include the dust bag. i contacted them and they accepted a return without any hassle.

i later found the same bag in excellent condition on ebay --- for a fraction of the already "discounted" bbs outlet price.

I've bought 4 bags from them. Three were awesome and looked brand new. The fourth smelled icky, but they let me send it right back with no hassle whatsoever. My bags were over 50% off of retail and between the three I sold them with a 50% ROI - very happy!

I have a friend that "borrowed" an LV damier azur Speedy 30. When she tried to "steal" it (and it was used, it had patina) they offered to sell it to her for full retail!

Wow, LV holds its value, but not THAT well! lol.

I was also wondering how their outlet deals are...maybe I should check that out.

I was curious about buying a bag from the outlet area too.. I don't think I would be opposed to a preowned bag if it is in like new or very well cared for condition.. I guess the thing that holds me back is that the info just says 'gently used" ..thats a relative term ;) so you never know what you'll get ,,but it sounds like the few people that had a problem ,sent it right back without a hassle? might have to see if there is anything worth buying..

as far as using the service to borrow.. in theory its a great idea..you get to try a bag out and see if you lvoe it ..but man its expensive and frankly I agree with all the other posters here who said they would rather save and keep a bag...not dump a lot of money out and in the end have nothing..
