Hermes, any luxury brand really, has always used celebrities to create desire. While not everyone of the new generation may see influencers as "celebrities", there's still a large swath that do. A brand really has to walk a fine line between keeping true to its roots and also staying relevant. If they snuffed the influencers altogether, who knows in twenty years if the next generation will even know about Hermes? Only time will tell if Hermes can change with the times elegantly....

ETA: My unpopular hermes opinion is I think the mini bolide looks distorted...

Fair. And worth noting that there are degrees of influencers. I mean, there are for sure some that would be a turn-off to a lot of people. On the flip side, one could argue that, say, Lauren Santo Domingo is an influencer, and her carrying a B or K would appeal to a group of women who'd probably see some random YouTuber showing off her new bag as cringe-worthy.

Aww, I love the mini Bolide!

I personally don’t like the “when it rains it pours” approach Hermès has to leather colors. It feels like Gris Nevè is everywhere at the moment as well as Bleu Jean. I know these are seasonal colors but why can’t they be distributed equally throughout the year at least? The same is with mini Evelynes. Every single reselling platform is full of them with the current stamp B. It feels like a sneakers company having a “drop” to manipulate teenagers into purchasing a pair of sneakers in a rush and fear that there will be no more.

My latest opinion...
Hermes doing Yoga clothes???
I mean..why???
Stick with what you're truly good at and don't just expand into lots of other categories to make a buck.
There are superb brands out there who specialise in stylish yoga clothing and work-out gear, leave it to them.
Personally I feel traumatised that Hermes do Hoodies and Ath-leisure style pieces like joggers (I cant stand Ath-leisure..unless its being worn on the way to a workout but thats me) but I get it, many people live in joggers and hoodies but if that was my style I'd go for Brunello or Gods true cashmere where the items really do merit the ticket price.
I'm also on the fence about the foray into cosmetics...I get it, its another revenue stream and can capture a client base with a lower spend who can still buy into the Hermes brand image.
I do like the nail polish but in all the other categories I've sampled in-store I'm underwhelmed.
I find Gucci and Prada's cosmetic offering better in terms of pigmentation and quality,(and Dries lipsticks are fantastic!) although the Hermes packaging is sublime and wins hands down.
I understand the brand wishes to diversify but I firmly believe that every single product should reflect the true DNA of the brand..
Quality/Luxury/originality.
I agree. I keep trying to like the lipsticks but they melt, smell weird, don't last, etc.
Was not aware of yoga clothes. I can't even.

unpopular opinion: I’ve spent so much time here, that when I get to the boutique, I think
stuff like, is a particular pattern like Claire de la Lune overplayed lol. Or is a twillane too recognizably H?
I forget that most of the real world has no idea.

unpopular opinion: I think that other brands can do better scarves and shoes and accessories.

unpopular opinion: I’m not always fond of repurposing stuff (like adding a strap or belt to a box kelly longue wallet
but, what else am I going to do with it lol. It weighs 17 ounces empty and takes up too much room to use in a bag :)
Without a strap or scarf it falls off my lap all the time. I almost feel like using my hole punch for a grommet key chain
opening

Given that the thread goes OT every other page, should the thread title be changed to
“Unpopular Hermes Subforum Opinions” ? It is a broader topic, but might more accurately
reflect the content.

Thanks for the memories Pierre Hardy but it’s time. I hope whoever next leads the shoe design team has spent some time in Italy learning how to make a d##n shoe.
Following on from the above..
My opinion is...
I find many of the she designs really uninspiring.
I love the Jumping boot
and my unpopular opinion is that I feel that should be the only piece of footwear in the collection that features the Kelly closure.
I liked the Funk ankle boot but the sangles and toggle felt 'extra'.
there seems a lack of 'design' in the shoe designs.
They rely too heavily on recognisable Hermes symbols.
The 'H' the Sangles the Chaine d'ancre.
I'm sure I'm in the minority here sorry/not sorry

Ha, I was just looking at that Funk boot and thinking exactly the same, it just doesn't need the Kelly closure.... I will say that @880 makes a good point about seeing so much of this stuff that the eye gets tired; she's probably right, most people not obsessed as are we here may be less attuned to the signal, even in this era of omnipresent social media.

Nevertheless, and on topic, not every shoe needs an H signifier, some at least should be able to stand on their own merits in terms of design. And I should be able to 'stand' in them, without needing pillows on the soles of my feet after ten minutes of wear. (whining, at my petulant best  ....)

unpopular situation vs. opinion - my H purse peace has gone in the opposite direction. I feel I have too many bags particularly now when I rarely can be bothered to carry anything but my phone on a strap (digital wallet, digital license YEAH!) and i wear a lot of Tibi which have POCKETS... but no I am not giving anything up yet.
i wish there were more pictures of lovely members wearing their H and less chat/opinion. And here I am posting my opinion with no picture.
