What’s your unpopular Hermes opinion?

I think the thread “Asian and Hermes” is cringe. Am I the only one who thinks it’s weird to single out a certain ethnic group and their Hermes collection?
Perhaps "multi cultural thread" would be more appropriate. JMO
That thread you have pointed out was started back in 2012..
Personally, think many of us have come a long way with regard to race & culture
since then & a better understanding of cultural sensitivities, JMO

Regarding comments about the Asians & Hermes thread, here's a link to a 2019 thread bringing up similar concerns.
Lots of info and discussion there about it. Posting here for reference, as discusses history of the thread, etc...

why not call it

I’d like to see this changed to Asian celebrities and influencers and Hermes to reflect what it is. It’s just weird saying Asians and Hermes. It comes across almost like it’s some kind of weird fetish.

i may be petite at 5ft 2
Agree re the mini kelly, and I am your height. But my SA thinks positively re the jpg pochette
it's rude to ask members for their SA's contact. Firstly, they've spent time and possibly had to work their way to find an SA who they managed to click with so trying to get them to give up their contact, to me, feels like you're jumping the line. Secondly, it reeks of laziness. Thirdly, you end up competing with these members for QBs as/when the time comes.

- coming in and asking questions that have already answered. If they put in the time to read through the threads. People shouldn't expect to be spoon-fed answers.

- asking about in store availability. No one here will ever have the answer because inventory is fluid and also dependent on what the SA can offer you.
100%. The SA referral for different reasons that I’ve stated below. But also bc my SAs don’t want prospective clients who only want one popular thing. i have asked for references myself, but only from those who I know well and only by first making it clear thst I will not be riding on someone else’s coattails or have any bag expectations. Re asked and answe questions, I do cut some slack to new members who may not know how to run a search.
Knowledga is power. You gain that knowledge from here by reading as much as possible that has been written and drawing your own conclusions.
In the old days, lol, someone like mistikat or grace kelly would have corrected this newbie tendency not to read or inform oneself. When we were new, we didn’t want to come across as idiots esp if the answer was two posts up.
be rocker but cute at the same time
I’ve never been young enough or cute enough to wear pastels and display a rocker chic.

Yes, but I think Asian celebrities might be okay. Then saw @SDC2003 made this post first
I’d like to see this changed to Asian celebrities and influencers and Herme
I remember adoring miraslava duma, so even asian celebrities by specific name would work.

Why single out "Asian celebrities & influencers" when there are many other celebrities
& influencers of various cultures who could have a thread?
Personally don't follow influencers or celebrities on social media as I think at this point in
time all this is overdone & repetitive, but to highlight a particular socialite, celebrity or
influencer by name might work & why not give it a go for the MODS to consider changing the
thread title?

There could be separate threads for other ethnicities. Some people are really into some of these Asian celebrities. I don’t see anything offensive about that. Do you?

I think we shop at the same stores

I didnt have a bad experience at Dior across the street though.
Nice to know you had a great experience at local H w/o having to put up a show. I usually dress chic casual when im in that shopping area.

Unpopular opinion:
i may be petite at 5ft 2 but even then wont buy a mini K as it would be too small for me as well. Ive seen people load the mini K and even the k25 sellier and it just looks ugly deformed from all the contents in it. It’s just “pushing it too hard”. I agree with kelly pochette being better if you just need to wear a small bag or a clutch.

I love seing people with B35 and rock the casual tote bag look.

I prefer paladium or silver hardware in all my bags H or not.
Are you in Houston too? My bad experience with Dior was probably 5 years ago. But it left an impression. Now I love it.
I agree with you on people overstuffing the smaller bags. I haven't seen the K25, but that's what my SA recommended when I requested a 28. But I don't carry a lot.

Regarding scarves, there have been so many intricate and densely packed designs in recent seasons. I have a few of these from past seasons, which I love, but now all of that genre are starting to look the same to me! And, so many of the recent color palettes really don't suit me. I feel like the scarf designers are in a rut, I'm waiting for them the break free! :dog:

Unpopular opinion, feeling a bit wired to see people carrying brand new bag to Hermes boutique with all the plastic on hardware and twilly on the handles, it makes me feel like the bag has never really got used

Or they're planning to re-sell it!
My unpopular opinion is that I inwardly cringe when I see posters refer to their bags as 'she'..
Its so prevalent that a few times I've almost found myself typing 'she' whilst referencing one of my bags.
Henceforth I've decided that all my large bags are male ...
And my mid-sized ones (Massai,Omnibus,Jypsiere ) are non binary and therefore are a 'they'
In fact...scrap that idea..
All my bags are 'They' or 'Them'
Or heaven forbid..'It'
