What’s your unpopular Hermes opinion?

The saddest part is when they have to number the items because they have so many things for sale or so many of the same things for sale e.g. six rodeos, four orans, three h pop earrings, half a dozen mosaic sushi plates, and several calvis. I’m curious how they get their hands on so many calvis. Apparently finding one these days is like finding a case of liquor during the prohibition.
I wonder how they do that too, maybe order in bulk in store? No sure if they can buy more than two of the same items online :shocked:Probably they know something we don't....

I have a healthy assortment of the usual bags. The ones that I love now are somewhat idiotic and impractical except they make me smile. (I thought I wanted a DC elan, but now think it may be too practical lol)

Although I am a neutrals lover, this bag has to be in a pop color, bc otherwise it will look like tiers of scalped wigs. Assuming it’s crinoline idk. My SA is getting the info

I love the toupet bag especially in this pink! It is indeed horse hair. Years ago, they had made a dark teal one and also a tricolor one. It is such a special bag, but was unsure how much wear I would get out it. But thanks to Vogue for the idea, it could be used as a vase 577EFEE0-026F-4E2E-9F9B-0E2F7852AEBF.gif

My latest opinion is regarding the Kelly En Desordre.
I went to look at one in the flesh today having been curious about the design.
Once again I found myself disappointed by the choice of strap for the design of the bag ( I've previously mentioned that I find some Hermes bags let down by the choice of strap).
The bag style is quirky and I feel due to this best for casual use (this is just my opinion-you may beg to differ) However the strap allows it just to be worn as a shoulder bag.
The strap length is actually quite short and although I'm only 5'3 It looked like it was hanging at a length suited to a much more classic design like the Trim for instance.
The strap is not adjustable and I felt due to the design it really needed that option so it could be worn cross body or adjusted to suit varying armhole depths when worn over a coat or jacket as a shoulder bag.
I hope I'm making sense here.
I didn't take any photos whilst trying but due to the strap length the design just felt ill thought out
I cant imagine this bag being a big success

Thank you for the review on the strap!

Ah, but the fact it has “Kelly” in the name will mean a certain type of customer will buy it just for that… (probably another unpopular opinion).
Thanks for taking the time to review though.

I was told it was selling very well to a younger demographic.

The price increases for H which rumor has it will be across the board for shoes, scarves,
jewelry etc (phasing in around Feb 15th) will be off putting for some but not for all.
What I'm hearing from SA's is that clients are not feeling the "value" of the increases
it's not about whether the client has the pocket for it. So I would imagine the pre-spend
will become that much more competitive & with limited inventory even more so, JMO

Prices have already gone up in Canada.

Not sure if this has already been stated but my unpopular opinion is Epsom leather feels like the leather used on Kate Spade bags. I only own a wallet in Epsom, but my sister has a Kate Spade bag and they feel almost the same. Her bag was $200 and the wallet is now over $2K with the price increase. I don't think it's worth that. I guess that's my other unpopular opinion.

I prefer the look of the Bolide 1923 vs the other version. Something about the seam going across it that makes it looks dated to me.
I don't like the seam or the oval designed for initials on the regular Bolide either.
That's why I brought the relax version.
the seam and oval feel very 80's to me even though I do realise the design is much earlier (100years this year for the original Bolide)
I think I saw very many on the streets of Chelsea in London where I lived through the 1980's and 90's hence the mental association.

Yes! Also not a fan of the oval either.
