What is the most that you'd spend on a handbag?

My comfort point is around $2500, but I don't have a hard-fast limit. It would just have to be REALLY special....like a Birkin. Barring that, I typically can easily find something around my normal comfort point so I've never "needed" to go above that.

I probably wouldn't go over 3000€. I tend to analyze and rationalize my purchases carefully evaluating the features (pockets, closure, etc.), quality, materials and how the bag matches different outfits before making any decisions. I'd rather save the money than pay for something I don't really need and/or something that I would end up tossing in the closet after using it a couple of times.

I recently passed on a Valentino Aphrodite (which I've been lusting after for about half a year and finally found at a designer boutique) just because I didn't find it worth its price compared to my other bags. For 1500 € you think you'd get a proper closing mechanism instead of one tiny magnetic button closure. I might change my mind about it at some point if it goes on a sale. :P

$2,000 is the most I've ever spent on a bag and probably the most I ever will.

Now that I am living on my own, I am going to say that $1,000 is the most I will spend in the future for a bag - at least until I double my salary!
