What is the most that you'd spend on a handbag?

Everyone has different priority's, Some people like to go out to eat a lot and spend a lot of money on food. Some people like to take vacations, Some people rather spend their money on an expensive car. Some people drink, smoke and party every day. Others would rather buy expensive purses. Who is to say which is right. It is what makes you happy. I don't think you have to have a super high paying job. It is what you choose as your priority. My ex-boss had no problem going out to a $200+ sushi dinner but thought I was crazy buying an expensive purse. Guess what I still have that expensive purse. What does she have?

I agree with you. I have friends who think I'm crazy for liking expensive handbags, although the most I've spent is $698 on a Coach Legacy Satchel about 3 years ago. My friends like to eat out a lot and drink and don't seem to give a second thought to a bar and restaurant tab that totals over $1000/month. It's all in what you want to spend your extra money on. I just went back to school to get my masters, but I have a "purse fund" account that I use to put extra money aside for purses and I've been doing that since I graduated college 5 years ago. Although I'm now a full time grad student, I've managed to save up enough to go on a shopping spree at Louis Vuitton in September (trying to decide what items to buy), but also saved up enough to not have to work full time while getting my masters and Phd. It's all in what you want to do to enjoy life.

Nothing in my collection is over $400-I do not buy Gucci, Miu Miu, Chanel, LV, Chloe, YSL, Prada, etc.
I also wait until a decent sale is on :D
I am currently jonesing for Rafe bag that is already on sale like 50% off and then I have 25% off coupon. This is going to be gooooood!

I agree with those who say "to each his own"- we all spend money on what is important to us. Personally, I don't have to live in a big house, but I sure do have to carry a cute bag!! My most expensive three tie for price paid- LV Bourget and LV Pont-Neuf (both in epi)- and a Prada bowler bag. Each was about $1500. I have some more expensive bags but I paid less than $1500 because they were on sale- YEAH, love a good purse sale!!

Sale power! :D

I usually buy coach purses at the outlet and on sale.... I bought a coach green peyton, retail $750, got it for $239 at the outlet.... Haven't really bought anything coach or any other purses over $350...

But my most expensive purse was my LV Speedy 30...when I went to Paris...(my first and only LV)...got it for 575 canadian after all the currency exchange...

At one point I had an Hermes Plumeria. It was a lovely burgundy color. I sold it because I found myself being too afraid to carry it in the crazy Pittsburgh weather. It was around $2K, used.

The most expensive new bag I've purchased was a Tod's T-Bag at Saks a few years ago. It was $1,450 plus tax. I loved that bag. Sold it too. Wish I hadn't. I miss it.
