What is the most that you'd spend on a handbag?

Currently, I have not spent more than 800 on a handbag. my boyfriends keeps wondering when I"m giong to break the $1k mark... I hope I won't... unless it's a major designer purchase... but I think I am done for a while.

Being in the design field and knowing how much bags really cost to make and then in turn, they are insanely marked up... it angers me to spend so much on a handbag... unless i TRULY love it.

I'm comfortable around $1,500 ... I have spent more than that on bags, but they are more the exception than the rule. Spending more than that isn't something I would want to make a habit of.

I'm sorry, but what the heck do you people do that you can afford 2k bags? I have a decent salary, but after I pay the mortgage the car note and the utilities...I cannot afford a $2k bag. I've been lusting for a LV speedy for about 2 yrs now and it just doesn't seem feasible to buy when I can do something else with it...I must be doing something wrong!!!

my most expensive one is just under $600 for a Marc Jacobs Blake.

There are thousands of members here, with varying backgrounds and income levels, and varying limits on what they'll spend on a bag. Those who can spend big sometimes do, but not necessarily; there are modest wage earners who devote more of their disposal income to a luxury bag, and heiresses who tote around plastic bags from the megastore. Not a matter for negative judgment, it just is.
