What is the most that you'd spend on a handbag?

I still cant spend more than $250 on a bag...but at least I'm finding them heavily discounted now, so really they are retailing for $450-550. I cant imagine how I'll be next year when I think I can afford more. Will I? I dont know. I have a nice rotating stockpile of bags now, so maybe I'll be buying fewer but higher quality soon?

I discovered Hermes so any thoughts of being reasonable and rational are long gone. I no longer have a limit as to what I would spend.

I do, however, have limits as to what I can spend. I will never spend more than I can afford. If one day I can afford a croc and diamond Birkin, so be it!

I can't see it happening anytime soon, though. *sigh*

I've spend around $2000 on my spy (1400 euros), but I usually don't go over 1000 euros/$1300-1500. I don't really have a limit as to what I would spend, but rather as to what I can spend. I'm a student and I only have time to work during summer. I've only recently ventured into the world of Hermes, so I guess I'll be saving up for a big one (I'm thinking bolide or massai, not birkin or kelly). However, my favourite brand at the moment is Mulberry, which isn't that expensive - their best bag (and my fav) is the ledbury, which is only 450 euros.

The most for me has been the Treesje Asher I just bought-$32x on sale. HOWEVER, once I converted it to Canadian it's about $406CDN. That's the end of my cross-border shopping for quite awhile!

Great thread!

I spent £1120 on a Spy a couple of years ago after obsessing about it for months(you'll all know the feeling - 'my life will end unless this bag is mine') and really regretted it. Not the cost -the fact that, when I finally got round to using it, gosh I loathed that bag.Too big, too much of a pain to get in and out of....*sigh*. Big, huge expensive mistake.
BUT. Its made me think very carefully about what I spend my cash on now - I know which brands work for me and I only ever pay cash. So I'd say my limit is around £800 - £950....can't bring myself to hand over any more than that.
