I have the same bag as Spielberg1, we bought them at about the same time and have both had agonizing moments about how much we spent on them and I am about to be really bad and buy a Miu Miu Matelasse Lux Coffer. Oh noooooooooo someone stop me!!!!

I debate that myself all the time. The most I have spent on a bag is $1600, but that is my only bag in that price range. I live in Arkansas, where most people have never seen anything other than LV and Coach (and most of what's out there is fake). There is absolutely no point in buying a lot of expensive bags here, as there is no occasion to wear and enjoy them. They just don't suit my lifestyle, kwim? I adore my designer bag, and I will probably get one other in a different color, but that will be it for me. I think the money can be better spent on other things. When I bought it, I also tried to get something that won't go out of style and that I think I can get a lot of use out of. I can get beautiful, quality bags that work for me for much less when I want something a little trendy or different. I just don't feel comfortable spending a ton on bags that will just sit in my closet most of the time.

I think everyone has a different limit on what brands and other factors like material and such. I own LVs, kate spades, Coach bags and a Prada. I would never go over $300 for a Coach bag but would for LV. LV never really goes on sale so if I want it, I have to pay for that price. I think about it more than if I were getting a Coach or kate spade bag. I would pay more for bags with phython trim or leather bags as opposed to signature fabric bags or nylon. It's relative to me but I do have a fuzzy line of limits. Right now I am satisfied with my 3 LV speedies that I don't need to pine on LV more than I already have. I really wanted the Vernis Spring Street but I just could not justify spending around $700 for a used one as they are no longer made.

I have cheap bags too that I love like beaded bags from India that my ex gave me. I treasure those cause I'm a sucker for beaded bags and here, it can get expensive! I also love the different designs that he got for me.

The max I have spent, 3k, the most I would spend, ?? I think it varies by designer and bag at least for me. I weigh how much use it will see, how versatile it is, and if it fits in my wardrobe.
Someday I hope to own a Birkin so I am sure that is the most I will ever spend on a bag but for now I buy what I like and can afford (Birkin is still way out of my $$ range)

About $500 at least. Nothing over that. At least not until I find a real job. Ugh I hate living in towns where there's only retail. At this time, it might be difficult to work in retail since not everyone shops anymore.

I allways wonder this too.

Handbag- Nothing over $800.00
Shoes- Nothing over $200.00 (I really like coach & they are about $200)
Tops- Nothing over $150.00
Bottoms- Nothing over $200.00
Scarf- Nothing over $100.00 (got my childs burberry right at $100)
Jewelry- I guess it depends the occassion.
Coats- $300

Well, at this point in my life, I have yet to go over $100 on a handbag. However, that doesn't necessarily mean that the handbags I buy aren't worth more. I just wait for good deals on good quality bags. Plus, I'd rather own a variety of mid-level price bags than one very expensive bag.

I think if there was something I truly loved I'd spend $200. I just can't see myself spending more than that (at least not right now...maybe someday).

and...If I ever became rich, I couldn't see myself ever spending more than $500 on a bag. :nogood: Then again, I'm not into LV or anything like that, which costs a fortune most times.
