What is the most that you'd spend on a handbag?

i guess i'm in a different league here...the most i ever spent on a bag was $199 (on a Coach tote bag). i own 2 coach bags and i just bought 1 michael kors bag but they were all under $200, since i bought them either @ outlets or after they went on sale. also, i only been buying designer bags for ~1 month now...so there's a good chance i'll be spending much more in the future..
um, i think i need to revise my answer here.
the most i've ever spent on a handbag was $1,450+tax, for my Louis Vuitton vernis Houston in Pomme d'Amour (the red tote in my signature). I bought it from the boutique December 2007. Since then I have not bought any bags that come close to that amount. I only own two other bags that came close to the $1,000 mark-Tivoli PM ($970) and Rosewood amarante ($870).Actually the 3 bags mentioned are the only LV bags i purchased for retail price, from a boutique. since getting into purses i've noticed that one can score really good deals on ebay & resellers, if you're careful and persistent and enough. I bought a vernis Bedford (retail $1300) for $338, and a vernis Spring Street (retail $800-something) for $315.
My most expensive was the LV speedy, $640, ID holder $199 and makeup bag for $299, the total ensemble was about $1,100 + tax. I LOVE it. I'm working to grow my collection, my next purchse will be a Rebecca Minkoff! Although, I do have several Dooney and Coach handbags I am looking to expand my colletion to more expensive bags that you do not see everyday or worne by everyone.
$531.50 on a Rebecca Minkoff Matinee. That was a little painful--it is the only time I have broken the $500 threshold. Another bag I bought a few years ago was around $450, but all the rest of my bags are $350 or below. I'm most comfortable if I don't break that $350 barrier.
right now since i am still trying to build up my collection of designer bags, the most i have payed for a bag so far is 100 but when i get my louis vuitton at xmas time it will go up to 700
