As far as I know, the cost of the GP doesn't vary based on leather. Could you be looking at two different sizes, or one that is a toile/leather combo? TBH, I don't know what leather my GPs are. Maybe ask in the All-Leather Garden Party thread?

I agree, the Kelly IS the most perfect bag ever! I have two vintage Ks, and yet, there are still times, and situations, where the Kelly isn't the best, or most appropriate bag. Of my two Kellys, one spends a lot of time in the closet (red box leather) and the other gets used pretty frequently (vintage, fully-patina'd Barenia -- worry free but heavy!). It's good you know what you can and cannot live with -- if a bag never gets worn, it can't be the perfect bag, even if it IS the perfect bag, KWIM?
Two great Kellys! You are fortunate. I don't think those choices are easy to acquire.!
That might be one of the differences between Hermes & LV - selection options are more difficult to obtain with Hermes. Of course there are many more[emoji6]
Thank you, yes, I do feel fortunate! I limit my choices to the pre-loved, vintage market because I just can't bring myself to pay full price in the boutique. Maybe if I make it to Paris one day, but in the US, no. Like some of you said, I'd be too afraid something would happen to the bag. Not that the vintages were cheap, but they were considerably less, and already have a little wear on them, which makes me relax a bit.

I know I started out asking about canvas, but when I tried on the DE, I just couldn't warm up to it. Strangely, inexplicably, I liked the monogram on me more.
And I do love the look of a well-patina'd speedy, but am still warming up the the mono canvas thing. Still not sure it's right for me, but we'll see.This speedy, OTOH, I loved right away. I've always liked the feel of Empreinte leather but was again hung up on the monogram. I really like this new version, that still has mono but less of it, and I LOVE the outside pocket. Tried it on last week and again today, and home it came. I'm going to see how this size (the 25) works, and then if I need more room, I'll revisit the canvas options again in a 30.

I don't have much in the way of photos, but here's one from when I tried it on last week. I find it useful, when on the fence, to take a picture of myself wearing the bag and look at it later. Helps me be more objective on what really looks good and what doesn't.
OK, I'm trying to post a photo and it keeps telling me the image is too large, which doesn't make sense since the image is no larger than any of the other photos I've posted recently. Will try again as a separate post!

Beautiful choice!!! Empreinte is what brought me back to LV and out of bag buying hiatus. Enjoy and use it to your heart's content [emoji2]
