What do H fans think of LV?

My random comments: I love LV. Prada was my first premier designer purse, and then I got an LV Favorite, and kept steam rolling after that. I've had the Empreinte Speedy, Speedy B, Pochettes in different sizes, wallets large and small, and everything in between! With Hermes, I had a *beautiful* Garden Party that I was too scared to use and eventually had it consigned. At first I regretted letting it go, but then realized that Hermes' colors and designs will eventually be perfected to exactly what I want, and I'll get it another time. In the meantime Chanel and LV among others--Mulberry, Longchamp, Coach--have kept me happy and satisfied. I still keep on the lookout for my Hermes HG: A Kelly Pochette preferably with gold or dark silver hardware, and I am fine waiting for it to appear. I think that's the fun of Hermes. I don't spend much time going into each boutique because it's hit or miss how nice the associate will be. I do love Hermes' wallets though. And Hermes scarves. And Chanel...beautiful Chanel. Okay, I love them all!

The reason I actually posted today was because I noticed on LV's website, a beautiful bag that looked just like (and dare I say more functional than) the Hermes Picotin. It's called the Atlantis. I didn't see any other beautiful colors that Hermes is well known for, but I was surprised to see that design.LV Atlantis PM.jpg

Another random thought: I just bought an LV goody; it was going to be two goodies, but wanted to do a bit more research on one piece. AND, I've got three Hermes goodies on their way to me. So perhaps I love them equally?

My favorite super-duper favorite bag is my Chanel Reissue though.

I love them all!!!!

Your speedy b 25 is really the perfect size for cross body. It looks great on you. (I thought I was about done but I may have to try one out myself) I'm only 5'2", may I ask how tall you are? The strap is the perfect length for your height.

i have been eyeing the sofia coppola line for a few years already but never committed to getting one maybe because I don;t need a workhorse bag. I was never a fan of the monogram but is drawn to the ebene because they really are very elegant. i especially love LV bag charms as well.

i regretted getting other bags like celine, etc and always forget to get the sofia myself.

great choice on your speedy 25!!

I'm glad you've enjoyed the thread! I don't see why it can't continue if people still want to chime in with their experiences and opinions. I'm pretty thrilled so many people answered!

I don't have much in the way of photos, but here's one from when I tried it on last week. I find it useful, when on the fence, to take a picture of myself wearing the bag and look at it later. Helps me be more objective on what really looks good and what doesn't.

OK, I'm trying to post a photo and it keeps telling me the image is too large, which doesn't make sense since the image is no larger than any of the other photos I've posted recently. Will try again as a separate post!

Congratulations! This is a beautiful bag and had it been available when I bought mine, I would've gone for this one too. Wear in good health, and thank you for starting this thread. ***clapping***. I have been amazed at how many surprising - almost, dare I say 'closet' - LV fans are amongst regular H contributors and collectors that have replied with their lovely reminisces. (I must be a bit used to hearing "I only wear exclusively Hermès", which is cool, but I personally don't mind a bit of variety). Well done, @catsinthebag

Thanks! I am 5'6, but the strap is adjustable. There are 5 holes and in the photo, it's in the middle hole. So you can shorten it a couple of inches.

Thanks, Gixxer! I have to say, I'm really surprised (in a good way) at the response to this thread. Like you, I've heard "I only wear H" so many times, or LV is put out there only for rainy days or for protecting the precious H bags. It's nice to see this brand, which many have mixed feelings about but also has great history, has a place in many H fans' closets.
And I like some variety, too!

I can imagine it is & trying to picture the bag in my mind. When you have time, please post a pic
I'll look in the appropriate thread
I have not posted a pic on the new PF. I just had to purchase a new laptop. Trying to figure out how to resize. The pic I just took is HUGE. I'm too old for this technical crap!
