I love Hermes but LV has a great heritage too. I particularly like their travel pieces. Coated canvas bags are light, durable, and easy to keep clean.

Yes, as you don't want to have to " really that bag? Can#t you take another one with you"-look everytime you use it, isn't it? At least that's it for me. I am still considering a neverfull as it is said that the NF is light and waterresistant and holds a lot of things... Unfortunately I don't like the alternative that as much, the one with less logos on it.
OK, so this is a totally first-world dilemma ...
I've never been a huge fan of LV because of the prominent logo and ubiquitous nature of some of their bags (literally, you can't walk through Boston on any given day without seeing a Neverfull ... or eight). I can appreciate why some people love them but have never felt the appeal. Part of it is, when LV logo-mania was at its height several years ago, I saw too many women carrying LV bags with a sort of superior attitude (not that most LV lovers are like this, but it's what I saw in the location I lived in at the time and it was a huge turn-off).
It is, thanks! I LOVE total vacchetta bags, I so wish LV still made them!!Your vachetta Alma must be gorgeous!
So funny, I had exactly the same thought about a speedy. I mostly use longchamp pliage for travel - and I think a speedy in either print looks lovely. I have never owned an LV bag and not too sure about the ethics of the company, but I think I d like a little speedy for plane or rail travel. I sometimes use a plume 32 for train travel, which feels very luxurious and is a perfect size. ( after all the design was based on a travellers blanket bag), but a canvas bag would be easier with all the rain I have to go through...OK, so this is a totally first-world dilemma ...

However, this is the second autumn in a row that I have felt myself strangely drawn to buying a Speedy B. Fall/winter is coming, and I'm feeling a definite itch for a higher-end bag that zips shut and is weather proof. I'm pretty sure the style will work for me as I have a couple of Longchamp Le Pliage Cuir bags that are essentially the same thing -- a zipped duffle with a cross-body strap. Longchamp is great but it isn't giving me the luxe feeling I'm craving. Basically, I want an easy-to-use, all-weather bag that still feels high-end. In that way, the Speedy B feels like the bag that should fill that void. As much as I love and use my H bags, I know that when it's sleeting in January, I'm going to be looking for a different option,
BUT .... -- and so many of you can probably relate to this -- another part of my brain is screaming, "But it's not H! And for that price, I could put that money toward another H bag -- or buy a new CSGM!"
So, I'm looking for some discussion to help focus my ping-pong-ing brain!Do you ladies have this bag? (I'm looking specifically at the Speedy B30 in Damier Ebene.) Do you find it goes against the H-fanatic's love of understated, non-logo'd elegance? Or does it simply fill one of those slots in a collection that H doesn't fill (I see my Chanel flaps as fitting in this category).
Would love any and all thoughts. Thanks!
I forgot about my mono holdall! It's a great overnight/weekend bag and it folds flat when not used. So practical!A DE Speedy was my first designer bag and while it sat unused for years as I went to other bags, now am finding I'm reaching for it more and more when its wet or inappropriate for other bags. In fact I used it yesterday. It's a simple, light, and classic design and LV wears like iron. To that end, last year i did something I should have done years ago, and got a Keepall 50 in mono for travel and nights away. The scaled-up Speedy design (or other way around) is so convenient for fitting a lot and carrying things (which I can't say for the beloved Kelly I'm switching to today). Have fun deciding!
