What do H fans think of LV?

Yes, as you don't want to have to " really that bag? Can#t you take another one with you"-look everytime you use it, isn't it? At least that's it for me. I am still considering a neverfull as it is said that the NF is light and waterresistant and holds a lot of things... Unfortunately I don't like the alternative that as much, the one with less logos on it.

I hear you! But if you really love the mono Neverfull and it will really work for you, get it! My DH is picky, but also says he can get used to anything. I'm betting that over time, those looks from your DH will go away.

I personally find the skinny straps on the Neverfull uncomfortable, so I use Longchamps in the rain. Even when it makes sense, I have that momentary thought of, I can't believe I'm using this when I have other high-end bags in the closet!

OK, so this is a totally first-world dilemma ...

I've never been a huge fan of LV because of the prominent logo and ubiquitous nature of some of their bags (literally, you can't walk through Boston on any given day without seeing a Neverfull ... or eight). I can appreciate why some people love them but have never felt the appeal. Part of it is, when LV logo-mania was at its height several years ago, I saw too many women carrying LV bags with a sort of superior attitude (not that most LV lovers are like this, but it's what I saw in the location I lived in at the time and it was a huge turn-off).

I generally dislike the LV monogram bags - although I have a little card purse with the monogram due to the very pretty berry leather lining. I actually wouldn't mind a heavier duty pouch for my cosmetics while traveling. it is very "hard" wearing which I really like.

I do have a Neverful in the Damier Ebene print. It is a hard wearing bag and I don't worry about it getting dirty. I got the DE print because it seems at least a little less obvious as a LV bag (I really do not like overt obvious branded bags - I wear my Evelyne's with the H against my body and I think that is the reason why I don't really like the Kelly or the Birkin - too obvious, same with the Chanel flaps).

For other totes, I really prefer my Moynat canvas bags. I am not sure if they will wear as hard as the LV Neverful but they feel a heck a lot better on my shoulder than the LV.

I don't think I will be buying other than SLG from LV because I am just not a huge fan of the Damier prints and I really would dislike a LV monogram bag.

However, this is the second autumn in a row that I have felt myself strangely drawn to buying a Speedy B. Fall/winter is coming, and I'm feeling a definite itch for a higher-end bag that zips shut and is weather proof. I'm pretty sure the style will work for me as I have a couple of Longchamp Le Pliage Cuir bags that are essentially the same thing -- a zipped duffle with a cross-body strap. Longchamp is great but it isn't giving me the luxe feeling I'm craving. Basically, I want an easy-to-use, all-weather bag that still feels high-end. In that way, the Speedy B feels like the bag that should fill that void. As much as I love and use my H bags, I know that when it's sleeting in January, I'm going to be looking for a different option,

BUT .... -- and so many of you can probably relate to this -- another part of my brain is screaming, "But it's not H! And for that price, I could put that money toward another H bag -- or buy a new CSGM!"

So, I'm looking for some discussion to help focus my ping-pong-ing brain! :panic: Do you ladies have this bag? (I'm looking specifically at the Speedy B30 in Damier Ebene.) Do you find it goes against the H-fanatic's love of understated, non-logo'd elegance? Or does it simply fill one of those slots in a collection that H doesn't fill (I see my Chanel flaps as fitting in this category).

Would love any and all thoughts. Thanks!
So funny, I had exactly the same thought about a speedy. I mostly use longchamp pliage for travel - and I think a speedy in either print looks lovely. I have never owned an LV bag and not too sure about the ethics of the company, but I think I d like a little speedy for plane or rail travel. I sometimes use a plume 32 for train travel, which feels very luxurious and is a perfect size. ( after all the design was based on a travellers blanket bag), but a canvas bag would be easier with all the rain I have to go through...

A DE Speedy was my first designer bag and while it sat unused for years as I went to other bags, now am finding I'm reaching for it more and more when its wet or inappropriate for other bags. In fact I used it yesterday. It's a simple, light, and classic design and LV wears like iron. To that end, last year i did something I should have done years ago, and got a Keepall 50 in mono for travel and nights away. The scaled-up Speedy design (or other way around) is so convenient for fitting a lot and carrying things (which I can't say for the beloved Kelly I'm switching to today). Have fun deciding!

I used to purchase LVs but after reading "DeLux: how luxury lost its luster" (fab book by nytimes fashion lady) I would personally never buy anything from them again. The quality is just not acceptable for me for the prices...and much of it is made in China despite being labeled as made in France, etc.

That said, I do think the style of the speedy is so practical and great. I have never been able to part with it. It was one of the first designer bags I purchased so it holds s special place.

Not a fan of the mono and flashiness of LV logos. I think the Damier is less in-your-face though. I saw a woman carrying a Damier Azur bag (not sure what style) and it looked great on her! Almost tempted [emoji1] especially when now that NG moved to LV. Have been keeping an eye on the new designs coming out and liking quite a lot of them.

I forgot about my mono holdall! It's a great overnight/weekend bag and it folds flat when not used. So practical!

LV will always hold a special place in my heart (and closet) even after being bitten by the H bug My mono NF is my daily workhorse bag (I can't carry Bs to work).. It's been through everything - rain, beach, and my 2 year old using the strap as a teething toy - and it still looks great! Plus it looks good w any outfit I'm wearing to work which is a plus

Still love my LV.... Ever since i got hooked to Hermes, still carry LV a fair bit - the pochette, noe.... And more recently the petite malle whereas the chanel bags dont get used anymore. Am one of the few that like the monogram here. Many complain LV is too recognisable/common but that does not bother me at all. Goes with everything and is sooooo hardy! I say go for the speedy!
