Weight of Giant Hardware v Regular Hardware

i tried on a GGH work and the weight wasn't really noticeable to be quite honest. But then again I was trying it on in the store with nothing inside of it...perhaps the normal haul of my everyday items would perhaps make it heavier but i love the extra POP that GH adds so i'll suffer for beauty. haha.

Good thread!

The GH on the Day is barely noticable to me (and I have a bad back), and I  the way it pops the bag - makes it very sophisticated. It feels much weightier on the other styles where there is more metal - I'm hesitating on a part time with GSH for this very reason.

I love the bling and color on my Pine GGH City, but she is very very heavy -even heavier than some PartTimes because the leather is so thick. Reminds me of carrying a paddy, however the paddy is still slightly heavier!

I have been lusting after a new bag for months and decided on buying a Balenciaga bag. Trying to make my mind off which one.
Right now size wise I carry my LV Speedy 30 and would like a bag in this size or even bigger.
So I need to know what is a good bag as the first bag and how heavy is it?
I have my heart set on pink tones but really love the turquoise bag too.

I would say go for a city or if you want a bit bigger than a part time. If you get the regular hardware its pretty light, the giant hardware adds more weight. Let us know what you decide on getting!

I agree with rica, I think if you're used to the speedy 30 you might check out the part-time. If you want something smaller you might consider a twiggy. Both are more east-west (rectangular) in shape. They don't have as wide of a base as the speedy, but the PT should fit about as much if not more.

you have some tough choices to make...you can either go with a city, twiggy, part-time, or work! The regular hardware is much lighter than the new giant hardware. check out the reference section on top of the forum to see the different styles!

goodluck with your search.

That is one thing I love about bbags, they're very light compared to a lot of designer bags. I guess the GH is an exception, but I don't know how heavy it is because I don't like it, so I've never tried it on. Good luck with your decision!!

VEry light!!

I carried around a speedy 30 for a year and was surprised at how "small" the city seemed to me. I'd say if you want equal or larger, do a part time or work....or brief, Purse, day, etc.

Super super light. ;) The lightest bag after a plastic bag.

Absolutely, ITA! My faves are the Day Bags, and they are huge and light as a feather. Nothing beats rh Bal bags for being featherweights, regardless of the size.

It matters to lazy me, so though I love the look of the larger bags with GH, I've never even considered them. :girlsigh:
